A solid, well featured tablet offering good value for money
I bought this tablet because my Amazon HD 10 had incompatabilities with some of the apps I wanted to install. This tablet offered an up to date version of Android with no such restrictions. It offers excellent storage capacity , with the option to add more using a micro sd if required.Apps run smoothly and all my media needs are met through Tidal, BBC Iplayer, Audible, Spotify etc, as well as Kindle and MoonReader. Streaming seems stable and I have no complaints about the display. Sound is provided through four speakers and is decent, although most of my content is cast to my hifi system.Battery life seems decent and charging is through a USB-C so charging times are respectable. The build quality is very good, having a metal case. This makes it a fairly heavy tablet but, since I will be mainly using it with a stand, this is not a problem.Early days, but no complaints so far.

Too big to Swallow
I bought this tablet as a replacement for my grandfather's fire hd 10.As the family tech, I spend a lot of time hunting for budget devices that transform the lives of my family members. This was one of my recent buys and I've had amazing results from it.Loaded with android 11, it's hard to fault software wise, it does everything you need it to, and then some. It's quick, very efficient and can handle multiple apps/streaming at any time thanks to the hardware. The battery life is great! It really does last a lot longer than any tablet I've ever used. The price.....Another relative of mine paid £180+ originally for the fire hd10.This Teclast tablet is currently £159.99 and beats the fire in every single way.It is quite easy to use, my 75 year old grandfather uses it without issues every single day. That being said, I did spend a fair amount of time personalising it and using accessibility features to provide him this ease of use.It really is a fantastic Buy for a budget tablet, and don't be put off by the unheard of brand. They're doing very well in China!

Brilliant tablet
Purchased this tablet as fancied a change from normal apple and Samsung purchases. Have mainly used it to play games and watch videos on prime,Disney etc. Nice picture quality which doesn't lag . Some people have said that the sound quality is tinny at times. I have faced no such problems. Operates on android and quick to download apps movies etc. The free case provided with the tablet when I purchased is not the best.

Powers off immediately
After about 9 months the tablet decided to stop working. Looks like it is powering on, then switches off immediately.Contacted Teclast who direct me to Amazon who direct me back to Teclast… nightmare.Just buy a decent one from a decent retailer where you can get issues resolved.

Very pleased with the tablet
This is a great tablet it's quick and responsive I use it as a sat nav very easy to setup, one reviewer said he could not get into the display settings, and the tablet just went back to the previous screen, that was the same for me but in the process of setting it up and connected to the internet via WiFi it came up to say download a software update that resolves the issue and other fixes, download the update and installed it but it does take a while to install more than just a few minutes that it says on the screen and everything works fine now. Put my sim card in and the phone side of the tablet is great, I think that for the money it's defo worth it, I have tablets that are twice the price but this one beats them hand's down. Would recommend.

Does NOT have WideVine L1 (despite advertising it)
The tablet is ok for the price and seems sturdy. There is a big issue though. It advertises WideVine L1 support - necessary to get HD streaming on many apps (e.g. Netflix) but it does not. When streaming netflix the app reports the device as being WideVine L3 compliant with a max resolution of SD (480p).This is substandard for 2023 viewing.A similar issue occurs on YouTube. You cannot get better than 720p streaming despite setting the app to stream in the highest quality. So to sum up:Pros+ Cheap+ Decent build quality (or so it feels)+ Runs smoothly thanks to 8GB ram and Android 12Cons+ SD viewing on streaming apps despite L1 claims+ Free case that is bundled with it is dire. It's made of the shiny smooth plastic TPU stuff you get in phone cases and looks cool when you take it out the box. On use you realise why all other cases have a material that's a bit more course. When you set the case to sit the tablet up on its side it is so slippy that it just falls apart under its own weight in seconds. There's no grip for the case to keep in the upright positionFree yes (or was when I bought this tablet on a deal for £80)But also garbageIf SD streaming doesn't bother you - and you can get it for the £80/£90 Amazon were offering it on October's prime day it's decentPersonally the streaming is too big a deal-breaker and I'm returning due to false advertisement

Disappointing for a Teclast tablet
I've used Teclast for some time and never had an issue. So, when time came up update my aging Teclast P20HD and my wife's 10-in tablet, Teclast was the obvious choice. Sadly, the M40Pro has let me down. After 6 days of use, my M40Pro bricked itself - shut down ad refused to power back on. Tried all the usual: press & hold Volume Up + Power to try to force a Factory Reset (as per the Teclast support website); tried a poke at the reset button & various combinations of depressing that and the Power button; left it a while on mains and tried the above again; even resorted to stroking it and whispering sweet nothings into the jack socket in the hope it would stop sulking. All to no avail - so now returned. The second M40Plus appears to have a potential issue with its power button (simply touching it to bring the tablet out of sleep mode has caused it to reboot/restart on three occasions), so we're monitoring that to see what happens. Two machines from a bad batch, perhaps?
