Its made in china, but it is much better than most vise's I have seen. No slop when its opened or closed and the swivel locks actually work easily. Overall a good vise for the money for the homeowner.

Q: What kind of gaurantee does it come with for breakage

Trust me the warranty is not the issue on these cheap vises, its the hollow vise itself that's the issue. I mean if they sell you a big long turd and I say it has a lifetime warranty on breakage but' it breaks into anyway sure' they'll give you another turd why not? It only cost $10 bucks for the meal that made it anyways so they can replace it several times still having making profit. Eventually they know you'll call it a day and go buy another turd/tool hoping its better than this one. Fact is you get what you pay for the first time with tools and if your bending pretzels with this vise it will be a fine one forsure. Don't bend/pry on anything heavy with it though as its a very light weight vise and how I know its hollow. Understand too these warranties are only for defects, not misuse so "maybe" they'll replace the hollow turd...Maybe not, either way they already have your money now don't they?
