Mind you, it is certainly wool with some cotton. As such the picture truly depicts the rug and an underlayment is needed. The rug does not mind traffic, however high energy dogs will kick it up every time. We have the rug in a quiet dark hallway and it lights up the area and looks great.

Love this rug!
I don’t write reviews often but felt like I had to about this rug. It’s so hard to find a good quality rug that doesn’t cost a fortune. I’m very happy with this one. The color is just as shown and it feels soft to touch. Great price!

Gorgeous, but still smells awful
I am not sure what to think about some of the other reviewers saying there is no smell to this rug. Although the rug is beautiful, it still smells terrible and bizarre after weeks of trying to air it out. Although I understand that natural wool may initially have a smell, the incredibly stong & lasting odor of the rug I received is not acceptable.

Sheds. Itchy.
I have the rug in 2 sizes, but only the 6x9 has issues. It sheds constantly and feels itchy compared to the other rug which is suspicious. I am forced to get rid of this crappy rug. I’ll be donating it since no one would want to buy it back.

WAY TOO SMALL
So I loved the design and the color but wow this rug is way too small. I ordered a 8 foot round rug and while I was expecting it to maybe be a little small based on reviews/ reviews of other safavieh rugs this was 8 whole inches smaller. That is a lot so this rug got returned.
