I was looking for two 18" oscillating fans for my living room and bedroom. I found this one on sale (only 16") and thought I would give it a try. (I THOUGHT I ordered TWO of these...but alas it only submitted order with ONE). Compared to my Lsko 18" fan (used in my LR) that died on me, this one moves ALOT more air and I don't have to be within 5 or 6 feet in front of it to feel it ( I could BARELY feel any air flow sitting on the green loveseat - this wesinghose fan I can FEEL the air swirling around me all the way to the farthest end of my couch - a good 15 feet away). My living room is 18x11 and I can set this fan at one end of the living room and FEEL it 18-20 ft across the room on center with the air column projecting. On the high setting yes you can hear it but it's not so noisy or distracting that it interferes with watching TV or having conversations. It is made very sturdy. The front grill is metal and the Back Grill is a sturdy plastic with a plastic housing on the motor. The base is also heavy duty plastic and about 3x heavier than the Lsko base. (Note: the extension pole is part of the pole that bolts to the base - it is tucked inside and slides/extends out. I thought I was missing it until I thought to check that). It is no way the cheap plastic that my Lsko fan was constructed of. The fan housing does not oscillate which is the ONLY minus. The interior blade oscillates so you only get about a 75° to 90° spread on the airflow, but it DOES circulate the air in entire room. You just dont noticeably FEEL it BLOWING DIRECTLY ON YOU outside of the column 75° to 90° column of air projected. I guess because of that I'm lucky I only got one of these because my 18x11 living room has an open 9x 11 dining room adjacent to it that also needs air movement, so I need a fan that actually oscillates left and right for a larger spread of air movement. So this one will go into my bedroom and I must say that this one is definitely 100% better than the little 16" Lsko pedestal fan that I had in that room that also died. In that bedroom I ran that little white Lsko fan on high non-stop along with a large box fan to move the air around in there and the ceiling fan. This fan will replace minimally the Lsko pedestal and the box fan and still put out more air than both of them combined. I'm very happy with this purchase and it is a good quality product and was worth every penny I paid for it (on sale for $40-$50). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Fan is a tank *by S***D on Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2024* Hard to rate this fan considering I got it at a massive discount, but I'll do my best to be impartial here.This fan is sturdy as hell and will absolutely outlive me. Easy to clean, unlike my old Vornado, heavy, stable, powerful. Mostly metal build, with just a couple of plastic bits. Easy to assemble. Three Speeds. BIG. It's really everything you want in a fan, EXCEPT! Noise level. It's a loud boy. But, honestly, it's a pedestal fan, not a tower fan, so noise comes with the territory. It's also got the coolest oscillating feature I've seen on any fan - the blade moves inside the cage, instead of the entire head moving around. Super cool. Also, blue blades lol.Am I happy with this fan for the money I spent? Absolutely. Would I be happy if I paid full price? Absolutely, just not to the same degree. Well when I saw this was down to 39.99 I said I have to buy it, & it does not disappoint! It's made well.
