The metal bends back if you lean on it. Better than nothing, barely. But the metal is too thin to be strong enough.

It works ok as is. I drilled and tapped the sleeve of the bracket to 1/4-20 and used a knurled seat bolt as a lock screw to move the backrest forward in the sleeve and make it stay. It also works as a theft deterant as you cant just walk by and lift it out easily.I bent the backrest bracket some to make the pad more perpendicular to the seat, now it feels better then before because I was hitting just the bottom edge of the pad, due to it laying way too far back at a weird angle. Its still a bit springy for my tastes but I'm not sure how to remedy that yet. Give it time I'm a fabricator so I'll think of something.All in all not bad, though a little pricey for how flimsy it is. If this wears out or if I need a new one for whatever reason I wont buy it again.
