Awesome part for an awesome price!
This particular defrost timer worked perfectly for my ancient Westinghouse beer fridge in the garage and got me back up and running. If you find your freezer full of frost yet the fan and/or fridge still has working lights but not as cold as expected then it is likely your defrost timer is dead. This particular timer will turn on the defrost heater for 8 minutes or so every 8.5 hours so that you do not get frost buildup in the freezer. When the timer dies it will likely cause the fridge to stay in freeze mode or defrost mode permanently. If the former, the fridge will run until the compressor freezes up and either burn up or shut off. If the latter, you get no cooling and likely could burn up the defrost heating element. You can easily test if this is your bad part because there is an exposed manual timer advance that you can use a screwdriver or finger nail to turn. Typically the timer will be inside the same box where you can adjust the fridge temperature. In my case directly at the top and front of the refrigerator compartment. You will hear and/or feel a click as it advances and eventually it will spin around and "click" to engage the cooling mode or freezing mode. Hopefully you can use this trick to see if it is staying in one mode or another and/or manually run the compressor until you can get a replacement

Worked to fix warm fridge with working freezer.
After trying several times to just thaw and restart my 17 year old fridge/freezer, it became obvious that it was icing over the vent between the freezer and fridge in about 1 week each time.Found this as a replacement for the part no longer made, was 15 minutes work to install. Been working great ever since!

Product shipped on time and works as expected.
Installed timer. It fit perfectly and is working properly. I would recommend this service to anyone looking. Saved money versus going to a local appliance parts company.

FIXED A 20 YEAR OLD FRIG
The AMAZON description of this timer was perfect. My frig is only about a 20+ years old Kenmore and I have defrosted it my hand a half dozen times. Welp, this little timer fixed all that ice buildup and the freezer works like a champ. This is a beautiful thing when things work the way they are supposed to.

Looks like it is going to do the job
I have an old Montgomery Ward top freezer refrigerator that is +30 years old, garage beer fridge for the last 20, it stopped cooling and I determined the defrost timer was the most likely culprit. The old timer unit was half molded black plastic and the other half metal, with the part number and specs molded into the plastic. Unfortunately, that information was unreadable. The only replacement part I found based on the fridge model number, they wanted over $50 for it at an online appliance part source, forget that.A little research led me to believe they are pretty much interchangeable, I found this part on Amazon that looked like the same shape, mounting, and connection. I don't know the old on/off cycle so just went ahead with this. Plugged it in, advanced the timer to defrost, went off to do something else then when I checked later there was water in the drip pan. The evaporator coils are a little difficult to get to on this model but I figure that's a good enough test and am calling the job done. For $10 its sort of a no-brainer choice if the timer is suspect and you don't have the ability to test it.Note: there are no replacement mounting screws with this, be careful not to misplace the old ones.

POOR PACKAGAING - ITEM FELL OUT IN TRANSIT AND WAS LOST
Seller or fulfillment used POORLY DESIGNED PACKAGING. Proprietary idiotic amazon cardboard "BOX THAT IS NOT A BOX" which does not close properly or seal up on the ends caused my item to fall out and disappear in transit. The good news is that Amazon is sending another one at no cost.I even paid extra for overnight shippingBecause Defroster timer gone bad brings refrigerator to it's knees and all my food is now spoiled.AMAZON PLEASE ABANDON THIS PARTICULAR TYPE OF BOX. IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR SHIPPING ANYTHING AT ALL.The defroster timer I'm sire is a fine adn good part - I have replaced these before and they solve the issue of freezer not as cold as should be, fridge warm , compressor running, evaporator fan running. Issue is freezer coils inside are blocked with ice. When the defroster timer stops working those freezer coils cannot clear themselves of ice and air flow over those coils stops and fridge becomes warm even though everything appears running as normal.

Great value for the money and easily installed.
My son ordered this to replace the one in his freezer. It is a generic brand and is easily installed. He just installed it, and at this time is working fine.
