I always wrap mine in normal pillow cover and it does help as it looks like new after months of using. Try that if you won’t find anything.

How high is the hole? I'm getting a new cartlidge piercing soon. I was wondering if the hole is where the ear would be.

That’s a tricky question because it will depend how you sleep & how long your neck is, you can always return it, if it’s not suitable, just use one of your pillowcases on it, to protect it.
