My Owned Body By Jake 556869 Tower 200 Full-Body Exercise Gym
I recently bought the Tower 200 and thought I should give it a solid review. ~What Is A Body By Jake Tower 200? The Tower 200 by Body by Jake is resistance band training equipment that you install onto any standard door. It offers 200lbs resistance and 200 different types of workouts, hence the 200 in the name. But this is more of a marketing thing than anything. I'm not sure where the 200lbs resistance comes from because they actually have a maximum 40lbs resistance on each hand. Also, the 200 exercises are only 200 because they count 2 exercises for changing sides/hands/feet etc. So in actuality, it's only like 100-120. But that's still more than enough for a good workout. While the printed guide illustrates many exercises, the included DVD is well-done and easier to follow. It includes an 11 min. total body workout, a 3 min. MMA total body workout by Randy Couture, and three quick (3 min.) routines to target the abs, triceps/biceps, or chest/shoulders. They include some movements not shown in the printed guide. The routines are fast, comprehensive, well thought-out, and ordered to minimize the time wasted switching the handles between the top and bottom. It would have been nice if the Tower 200 came with a second pair of handles, as shown on the DVD. Additional handles can be purchased separately, but I borrowed a pair from some other resistance bands I have. You could also grip the included pair of ankle straps, but it's not overly comfortable. The resistance is adjusted by hooking the handle's carabineers to one or any combination of the three resistance bands on each side. This is fast and simple, and offers a fairly fine range of adjustment. As with any resistance band system, resistance increases as the bands are stretched. This means that minute resistance changes can be made by moving closer to, or further away from, the door. The three pairs of bands are rated at 25, 35, and 40 lbs. (approx. 11, 16, and 18 kg.) of resistance. This provides a useful range, although 25 lbs. (11 kg.) may not be low enough for some difficult exercises, such as the lateral raise. You can overcome this in some instances by cramming two hands onto a single handle. ~Installation~ After unpacking the box, the setup was straightforward and required no tools. The setup instructions were adequate, but I would have liked to see more, and larger, pictures. Line drawings would have been clearer. It installs by simply hooking the top part on the top of the door and hooking the bottom part under the bottom of the door. Yes it's THAT EASY. So it's perfectly easy to install for anyone. There's no assembly required since everything is already put together for you. BUT, the instructions don't mention that you should install the Tower 200 on the side of the door opposite of the way it opens (e.g. if the door swings out, install it on the inside). If you don't, all the stress from pulling on the gym will transfer to the door's latch and hinges, which is probably a bad idea. Maybe that's obvious, but I didn't realize it until I was almost done installing the gym on the wrong side. (my bad)... Construction It is surprisingly good construction and feels VERY solid and sturdy. I feel perfectly safe to use it as hard as I can with as much power as I can. I've read on other sites that other products made by "Body by Jake" aren't very high quality, but I must say that the Tower 200 has VERY good construction. It's also quiet too, so you can listen to your music while working out without having any noises from it. The metal brackets that contact the door have insufficient padding and may scuff up your door. I added some stick-on rubber bumpers to avoid this. The brackets are wide enough to accommodate a thick door, up to approx. 2 in. (5 cm). The downside is that if your door is thinner, like my interior door, there will be some forward and back play in the brackets, which will scrape up the doorway as the door is repeatedly opened and closed. This was easily remedied by fashioning some spacers to take up the extra width. Does It Work? Well, this greatly depends on you. If you're a beginner or haven't worked out in a long time, then this could be GREAT for you. But if you're a seasoned bodybuilder, then I would definitely give this a pass. As for my personal experience, I used to be a seasoned veteran but my fitness has dramatically changed over the last 2 years because I "let myself go" and didn't work out. So I would consider myself as a beginner now with little fitness ability. This is why the 11-minute workout is so good for beginners like me who are trying to get back in shape. ~Price~ This is a little misleading, just like any other fitness equipment on "TV". It says try now for $14.95 free shipping and handling, which you can try for 30 days before sending it back. But then they charge you $39.95 for 4 months after each month. Then add sales tax on top of that which means you're actually paying a total of $191.79 it's a lot more expensive than you may think. When bought here on Amazon, the List Price was $175.00 but the sale price that I paid out of pocket was only $53.00 + $10.64 shipping. I saved $122.00 (70%), and it's ALL MINE! ~In Conclusion~ So now that you've read my review would I honestly recommend it? ONLY if you are a beginner. I'll be honest I really DO like the Tower 200 and I don't regret paying for it. Despite the minor issues mentioned above, the Tower 200 is overall a highly versatile and compact system that offers a lot of bang for your buck. This is my review for the "Body By Jake 556869 Tower 200 Full-Body Exercise Gym" I try to review items I need or have a strong interest in so in order I can provide a review based on a real genuine trial. My opinions and experiences with the product are an actual true reflection of my personal experiences with the item. These reviews that I write are not in any way influenced by the seller or website that the product. Because many of the products that I review, I have not been discounted or given this product for free. I chose to review so others can see what a great product this is. I do though still try to supply as much information as I can in terms of my initial experiences with the product, and the contents of the product as well. ~Thank You

Perfect for a small home, and a gym at home.
I have had the previous version, which was smaller in my last apt. This fits the doorway perfect, and is a secure fit to the frame of the door. I use it 5/6 days a week, and pyramid while using them. When I moved to my new apt a year ago, someone wanted to buy the old one from me, since he didn't have a credit card (to buy it offline) and was a good friend, so I did and bought this one. Very versatile, strong, and like any workout regiment: if you keep up on it, you will see results. Since 15 years old, I've been lifting and gotta say, not being able to use machines and can't be in crowds, this is perfect. Just me, my music, and my time. One of the great things with this, is to put a bar in the loops and it is good for pulldowns for the lats, and facing the machine, do the same to get the traps. I use an old, wooden bench, and laying down butterflies will hit your pecs and delts. Unlike a lot of reviews, I don't see anything wrong with it. I suppose you just have to know what you're doing, and most people on here think this is exactly like free weights; and you can't compare the two exactly the same. The resistance of fighting gravity vs. fighting the pull resistance is similar, but not exact. It's also that neither method is better than the other. IE: I hunt mainly with PCP rifles. While the PCP rifle is very similar to a firearm in many ways...they're not exactly the same. The end result is, however: a clean kill and being a good marksman. Excellent product, for experienced lifters like myself and beginners. Or for people (also myself) who don't have a ton of room, money and don't like crowded gyms and sometimes...lack of sanitation.

Great Quality - Better Than Expected
Received sooner than expected. Well made & well designed. Makes exercising easy. Probably not for serious weightlifter who really wants to bulk-up & get big. Great machine for the average person who wants to tone-up, stay in shape and add a little muscle. The spring links that connect the handles to the power cords was a tight fit for all three cords. I like to switch from three cords to two cords per handle depending on the exercise. I switched the links out for some larger ones. You can buy them at Walmart for a couple dollars each. Despite this inconvenience I still have to give this door gym five stars because the overall quality was better than expected. I've been lifting weights for years but find myself exercising more often with this machine. It's just so easy to grab the handles & start exercising.

Be realistic with your expectations
This is a great little product assuming you have realistic expectations - unless you've never worked out before in your life, this product is not going to build huge muscles, but it IS great for maintenance as well as general fitness. I love working out with free weights, but when you're in graduate school (or insert any other time limiting activity/career) you don't have much time to go to the gym or even switch out the weights at home (sometimes even waking up is a chore~) The wonder about the tower is that it's easy to set up. There's some minor assembly required, but it doesn't take much know-how or time. It fit on several of my doors perfectly. It's also easy to use - I wake up and knock out 200-400 reps for a quick workout that target all parts of my body and it gets me pumped for the day. It's also a great warm-up/cool-down for your regular workout. Tire those big muscle groups, then small muscle groups with free weights, and then jump onto the tower and plow through another 50 reps and work them til they're dead and limp. I also use it to shape areas that I feel are lacking and I feel this is awesome for that purpose (my rear delts have never looked better!) Do play around with it - most people don't realize how valuable working a muscle out at different angles can be. It's a little harder to do with free weights, but with bands like these, all you need is to change your grip and bam, you're focusing on different muscle fibers! Recommendations: -Replace the carabiners with some giant ones from amazon or homedepot. The ones they give you are so small that it's annoying having to change bands and even too small to include all the bands together without some effort. -Replace the grips - the ones included felt like they were going to snap on me and were kind of on the thin side. I replaced them with "Ignite Fitness Ultra Heavy Duty Elite Exercise Handles" - they're thicker and will work out your forearms/grip more, and they're also harder and doesn't bend like the ones that came with the tower. Overall, at the price for $50~, this is well worth the price. Didn't expect a as-seen-on-tv product like this to be so effective, but I love it~

The Real Deal.
Before buying this “door gym”, I’d looked at other similar gyms that were quite a bit less money. I always read customer reviews whenever I’m buying anything, and I always go straight to the one and two-star reviews because they’re the ones that will tell you if there’s a recurring problem with a product. Most of the other cheaper “door gyms” either moved or damaged the door etc. (according to the reviews). I decided to spend the extra money and get the Tower 200 Body By Jake, because it firmly and safely fits to the door, it won’t move, and it’s easy and quick to adjust the resistance. It came professionally packed in a reusable box with a handle on it, should you decide not to stick to your New Year’s resolution and store this in the garage/attic while promising yourself you’ll get back into it next month Lol. The DVD that comes with it has three different workouts on it from the 11 minute power workout, to the quick (but not easy, 3 minute MMA workout, all of which can be easily found online if you don’t have a DVD player anymore. The guy demonstrating the workouts is motivating (not annoying and cheesy) and makes it fun to exercise. If you decide to get this, be sure to get the one that Is by “Body By Jake” as it’s the same price as the other Tower 200’s, but it comes with a limited lifetime warranty as well (see pics). Do yourself a favour, spend the extra money and get this; it’s a solid setup, so you won’t be wondering if it’s going to move or even worse come off the door and smack you in the head while you’re using it.

Great product
One was for me, one for my stepson. It's a great non-intrusive and versatile product, very easy to install. I bought an extra set of handles because having handles on the top ans bottom worked better for my workouts using the bar. I bought mine 4 months ago for $70 with free shipping. My stepson's cost $90 with free shipping. Frankly, if they cost $200 they would be well worth the price. I bought mine just as gyms in New Jersey were closing. This product couldn't be found on the internet for several weeks, except for as much as $599! I highly recommend the Tower 200.

Great home gym for easy workouts
Set up in seconds. Someone else put in their review to get larger clips. If you’ll ever put all 3 cords together it’s doable but tough to clip all 3. The cords are all even and strong and each pulley moves freely to allow every angle to exercise each part of the muscle. I really like it and have used it a few times in the week I’ve had it. The door it’s on still opens freely without issue and there are pads on the brackets- no damage to door. If you see it in a review either the pads were missing or those folks may have installed it improperly. It came with a bar (about 18” wide) I may buy a wider one but this one is fine. It also come with two handles and two ankle straps. 5 stars. Just get it. (0
