Review: A great comfort to my elderly cat! - My 13 year old male cat started having symptoms of Arthritis and was beginning to limp on one of his hind legs. He also has suffered from mild Vestibular Disease for several years and does a lot of stumbling with his hind legs...especially when he goes in circles when he begs for food. It has been sad to see this normally very active cat...even at his age...having so much difficulty walking. I no longer get him his yearly shots because of the Vestibular problems so I wanted something natural to give him for the Arthritis and my Veterinarian suggested Dasuquin, which I tried and with in a week I noticed a big difference in his walking. No more limping and the stumbling that has bothered him for about 3 years now has been dramatically reduced. He is now, after almost the entire bottle becoming a lot more active like he use to be and even plays running games with our newest kitten who is now 8 months old. Today I just purchased my second bottle of Dasuquin and I even ordered another bottle for our 11 year old German Shepherd who is having Arthritis problems too. If it works as good for the dog as it did for the cat I will be buying this for the rest of the lives of my pets!! It has really eased the pain in my cat and he and I could not be happier! UP DATE: 1/5/2012.... My now 14 year old cat is still doing extremely well on these supplements and I will continue to give them to him...they also have been very helpful with his urinary problems ...the avocado supplement in the capsules also coat the bladder and he has been problem free for as long as he has been on these supplements. The 12 year old German Shepherd has not done as well in the long run on these...he has other more serious problems than just joint problems so he is on other "prescription " medications. Since my cat is doing so well I am going to keep him on them for as long as he lives. He is more active...for a while he was not so very active and these supplements brought him back to his old self!! However...if you are considering giving these supplements to your cat...I would definitely ask your Vet do not give them to your pets just on the recommendations that you read here or any where for that matter. Then I would buy them here on desertcart...they have the best deals...you don't have to rely on rebates from your Vet that you may or may not get and if your Vet tells you that you "have" to get them from his or her office...that is so wrong...Vets offices charge so very much for any and all the products they sell and they mark the prices up so very high just so they can make more money and most Vets will tell their employees and all other Vets that work in their offices to "recommend" as much as you can to the pet owners because they know people care so much for their pets that they will buy almost any thing at any price...they are there to make money on what they sell!!! **Q: My cat will not eat canned food. Any ideas how I could get him to take this? He's 17 and his vet reccommended it.**
A: My kitty is over 20 years old and has lost a lot of weight, has some kidney disease, and takes methimazole for thyroid as well.  I give her one capsule of Dasuquin each day. I open the capsule and mix the contents with some Delectables Senior Lickable treat with Tuna & Chicken, OR Delectables senior Broths Chicken/Tuna (liquid part only because she doesn't care for the meaty pieces), OR Friskies Lil Soups with Tuna in Chicken Broth (minus the meaty pieces). Have had no trouble as she loves those 3 treat bisques/broths. I save the meaty pieces and squish them up, add to her Pro Plan Senior Pate Salmon and Tuna for regular feeding of 3-4 meals and let her eat as much as she will eat. This is working for her, and I think the Dasuquin is helping after 3 weeks of treatment. Will continue the Dasuquin.  Side note: she also like to eat Tiki Cat Senior Mousse for some meals. Petsmart has the best price on that, while Amazon seems to have the best Dasuquin price. Gotta shop around.

**Q: Has anyone tried this after using cosequin & if so is there a big difference?**
A: Seems to work a bit better.  Took about 2 weeks to see the difference.  The big thing I noticed--it seems to be a bit easier on his (12 year old, big as in large not fat cat) stomach.

**Q: What size capsule is this ?  Is it small enough to wrap in a treat?**
A: Yes. It is a capsule. I use Pill Pockets Chicken flavor, flatten them with my finger and wrap the capsule with it. I then wet it with water, and pill the kitty. He's been on it for a year, two pills a day (1 in the am, 1 in the pm). He had a forearm injury last August and he also has arthritis. He's about 13 1/2 pounds and 17 yrs. old. It has made all the difference. He's like a kitten again.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Senior kitty has started to jump and play more!

I recently adopted a senior cat, about 13 years old. She is a sweetheart. However, I had been told that she had some arthritis in her back legs. Even accounting for her getting used to the new environment, she was very resistant to moving around and playing - it seemed very uncomfortable for her. After some research online, I found this joint supplement. I read the reviews, and they seemed positive, and every Google search I did showed that it is approved by vets and safe for cats, so I decided to try it out. I mix it in with her wet food every morning, and she's had no problems eating it. Two weeks into giving her this supplement, I have seen her jump up to the bed (which I had never seen her do before!) and be a lot more playful, like a kitten. I feel like I've finally gotten to see the real cat I had all along. She seems to move around a lot more now. I'll update after a few months, as this is still the loading period, but I will continue to give her this supplement because I have already seen such great improvement in her quality of life.
