Will this function with a AA cell in an emergency?

I don’t think so because the Amazon description says it has a “built-in” rechargeable battery. Though, the spec table says it uses 2 AA cells which is silly because the whole flashlight is barely bigger than 1 AA. The only part that unscrews is the head which only unscrews enough to expose the USB-C charging port. If anything else unscrews it would take more force than I am willing to give.

Will this actually stay in turbo mode for - full 2.8 minutes ?

I just tested mine it stays turbo about 2.5min then steps down a bit was at 3.20 and it only dropped a tad maybe 40/50lumens. I don’t think it’s 450 like advertised. I have a microstream usb and it’s brighter then that but I’d say 300-350 probably. Still very light and didn’t get that hot on turbo for 3+ min. Definitely can’t go wrong for $20. The size to brightness is definitely worth

How do you tell the state of charge?

I don't believe there is a way to do so. I click it on each day before I pocket it to take it to work. If it shines, I continue on. If it doesn't, I plug it in and grab another pocket flashlight for the day.
