I’ve tried countless hair dyes over the years, but Madison Reed’s 5NNN shade is hands-down the best at-home color I’ve ever used. I have naturally dark brown hair with a fair amount of stubborn gray, and I wanted a deep, neutral tone with full coverage — this delivered perfectly. The application process was smooth and user-friendly, with clear instructions and thoughtful extras like gloves, barrier cream, and a cleansing wipe. What really stood out was the lack of harsh chemical smell — no eye-watering ammonia here! Shade 5NNN gave me a rich, even, darkest neutral brown tone that didn’t skew red or ashy — just a pure, deep brunette. It covered every gray strand completely and left my hair looking dimensional, not flat or “boxy.” Even better, my hair felt softer and healthier afterward than it did before coloring

I really liked the hair dye so ordered the touch up product. Two applications in box. I mixed the one application put it on but nothing happened never turned dark nor did it dye my hair. Since that one didn’t work I mixed the second application and still nothing happened. So very disappointed and out a lot of money for nothing and now have to go to the store and buy what I’ve used before. Picture is after I dyed my hair with medium brown as you can see nothing happened.

Coverage and color are great, and it leaves your hair shinny and soft The kit is comes very complete with everything you need for a perfect dye. I gave it four stars because the amount of product is very little. Not enough to go around your whole head.
