A diamond in the rough?
As if this review, I can say that I only have maybe 2 hours using this gear. But, it does very well. Equal clarity to the deluxe Viking. At 230$ the 3350 Viking is great gear. Is it equal in every way, I dunno. At first , I thought that I may have had an issue. It has a test button that didn't appear to work. If you run into this, just press the button harder. Passed. A nice feature in fact. Controls on the cartridge otherwise worked as expected and clarity was great. Great. If fact, some one posted a link on a forum I belong to for the same gear sold by a welding supplier -that people on a welding forum were raving about, for only 120$ Striker Supreme XL Welding-Helmet. Heck, for 60-70$ , you could buy two of these. Their helmet is identical in every way.Edit: 2 years later and still going strong. It's my go to gear.

Updated - PAH03D Issue filter will not get dark failed after one use
Update: from 1 to 4 do to Support did reach out to me and provide another helmet, I waited to write this review update to make sure I used the helmet and it would last. The replacement helmet works well, view is good and I have had no issues to date with the helmet.Support is slow to respond to any emails, so be patient it will take time to get a response, a week or so. They do stand behind there produces and will send replacements. if you need fast support they were not fast but good once they get to your emails. even once they respond any emails after that go through the same time to respond.Reaching Support is hard, only email. I used this helmet three times. Worked the first time, did not use it for a month or so when I used it the second time it would get dark and stay that way. Tried it again and would not pass the test button. Light comes on but filter never get dark. In the manual it states do not use helmet if it fails this way when testing using the test button. It states the helmet has a failure. So my issue is getting in touch with their support to return this, it has a 24 month warranty. The only was to contact them is support through email. I will update once support answers the email and how the warranty works. So far almost a week and no response.UPDATE: So I have been emailing support for two weeks. Got one reply from there support took 4 days from first email. they said they would replace or refund wanted to know what I wanted. I have been emailing them back for a replace for two weeks now and no response, not even letting me know they have received any emails. So if you have issues with there products expect to wait and wait and wait, No phone numbers to call, no people to talk to. they make it real hard to return anything and after sending many email each day they don't even answer emails......So product failed, that happens, no way to return a product, they make it real hard to do so, as if they dont want you to reach them. Your on your own if it fails.

Outperforms my last two helmets with multiple settings
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This helmet is a great addition to my welding toolbox. It has a large screen, very light sensitive reaction for grinding, torching and welding. You can switch between these three settings. You can change the darkness of your screen as you please. The sensitivity can be adjusted as well. The headband can be adjusted to fit different head sizes and is comfortable. It is ultralight so it is comfortable to have on during my work time. This has replaced my last two helmets and I am very pleased with it.

I am an experienced armature and I love this thing
Let me state up front that I am not a professional welder and will not be spending $300-400 on a helmet. I am an experienced armature and I love this thing. I have used it with both my stick welder and MIG. IT WORKS GREAT. It seemed a little flimsy compared to my other helmets but after using it for a while, I think it will hold up pretty well and is a lot lighter. The real difference is the clarity of vision I get from this thing. I can really see what I am doing using this helmet. If you are doing a lot of work in your home shop as I do, I highly recommend this product. It was both cheaper and better than my Hobart and Lincoln helmets.

Love this helmet
I bought this helmet because it has a larger viewing area than a lot of the other bargain helmets on the market. It works amazingly well. I have used it for a few projects. It has a decent range of adjustments. My niece borrowed it and used it for a project restoring an old FJ. She has done a lot of plasma cutting using the helmet and some welding. She was impressed enough to order one for herself.

Save your eyes and buy something else
If you value your eyeballs, don't purchase this hood. I've noticed everytime I use this hood versus my other hoods, my eyes start hurting and feel scratchy after a little while. I thought maybe it was the day or that I had been working too long and fatigued my eyes or whatnot. Well I did a welding project yesterday that required about 3 linear feet of weldment and today my face is sunburnt. What's that tell you? If my skin got burnt, what happened to my eyes? Also, if you are slow pulse mig welding, the sensors get confused and you end up getting flashed on almost every pulse. Garbage. Also, the lens picks up light really badly from behind you (worse than any other hood I've ever used) and gets these streaks across the viewing area and it's very hard to get your head held just right so you can see.Headgear is the worst I've ever used. It's super flimsy and the hinge tension adjusts itself as you put the hood up and down so you go to put the thing up and it falls down on you after you just tightened the thumbscrews. The only good thing about this helmet is the large viewing area. But if it isn't blocking the harmful light that burned my face yesterday, then that's not good either.

Excellent Helmet
Very impressive helmet. If what you want is a great functional helmet that really protects you and your eyes, but don't feel like paying for what you don't need, than this is the helmet for you. Excellent controls, decent head adjustment and great field of view. All at an unbeatable price. Does that job really well with no frills, no extras, no BS - just a really good welding helmet. Oh yeah, if you are a professional welder, you could spend eight times as much to be the cool guy in the shop. I would rather buy a couple of these and still have a few hundred bucks in my pocket.

Impressive!
The amount of features you get from a $100 is a lot compared to the industry's reputable brands.I am able to see color and clarity through its large lenses (just like my Lincoln Electric 3350) and it's been a great tool so far.The shell of the helmet is flimsy but it's lightweight. Harness has many adjustability and functions, although I find the helmet likes to flip down on its own, no matter how much I tighten the dials. The durability test will be determined as my purpose is mainly outside environment with occasional welding, cutting, and gouging. I haven't been able to go through all the functions of the ADF but it is definitely a solid welding helmet.

Awesome welding helmet
Very happy with this welding helmet I use a high end Lincoln welding helmet at work and wanted to get the same for at home but can’t bring my self to spend that kind of money. So I have tried this helmet and I am amazed at the quality of it it has the same characteristics as the Lincoln and I love the large window view.Even comes with a protective bag for when not in use.Very well made helmetThe head strap allows for a lot of adjustment in how you want to wear it also has lots of adjustment for your preference of shade speed and darkness and sensitivity.Very happy with this welding helmet would highly recommend!!!

Overall not bad
Viewing area is super large and visibility is great. Helmet is lightweight and basic design. Purchased this for just under $80 using a promo. Good value if it holds up. After trying it for a short bit and changing the many adjustments on the headgear I gave up. It just would not stay on my head. Rather than return it I ended up swapping the gear from my face shield into it and its much better than it was. The grind feature is on the inside so that is almost useless. The sensitivity setting needs to be to the max with tig welding or I was getting flashed. It comes with extra lenses, battery and a storage bag so thats a plus. Overall for $80 I think its a good deal. If it craps out within the first year I will come back and change my review.

Great Product For The money. I’ve used it for 3 months.
You cannot go wrong with this purchase. If you are a student, new to welding or even an experienced welder this welding helmet is right for anyone in my opinion. I have a few friends with Miller’s and Lincoln helmets and the build quality is identical. However this helmet is half the price. I have not found a flaw with this product since I purchased it about 3 months ago. So I have had a lot of experience with it so far.Pros:Very light.Build quality for the price is unbeatable.Comes with multiple back up lenses, back up battery for auto darling lens and a carrying bag.The lenses have great clarity, it never fogs up on me.And it’s very comfortable. For a helmet this price it’s amazing how many adjustments you can make to make it fit perfectly to your head and work needs.Cons:I honestly don’t have any and the moment. I would have to be overly critical. And for a helmet at this price I’m not going to get into extreme detail on critical analyses. This product gets the job done.
