Just the right amount of light
I bought this to replace the dim florescent light hood it came with. Excellent aquarium light at a good price. This is the one designed for 20-27 inch aquariums. I am using it on a 35 gallon hex tank which is 25 inches at it's widest and 2 feet deep. I opted not to use the brackets and just placed it directly on top. No problems with it getting hot set like this. At approximately 19 inches long and 4 inches wide it was a perfect fit for the glass window over my aquarium. It provides just the right amount of light without being too harsh and has a slightly warm appearance. The blue lighting is also just what I needed for night mode without being too bright.

Love it!!
I have a 10 gallon aquarium that I have owned for 4 years and never used a light for it. Since purchasing this affordable led light bar it has changed the appearance drastically! It is very bright and works just as expected. The adjustable stands are super helpful as well. Recommend this to everyone.

Surprisingly great light for an unbeatable price... time will tell...
Normally, I would have passed up this product, for my experience with "cheap LEDs" has not been good, and accordingly, my rating is provisional. However, I was tempted to try this light out by a special review offer, and i decided to take the plunge. My first impression is positive, it's a nifty package, and great for a 10 or 20 gallon aquarium, or at least anything within the actual range of ca 20" - 29" - it will therefore not accommodate a 20 Long or a 29 gallon aquarium, which is 30" wide. For my 10 gallon tank, the light is pretty intense, but I like it, because I have tons of plants including Duckweed, and Hornwort, so I need a strong light to penetrate to the bottom. Penetrating to the bottom of my tank it does...The Manufacturer provides almost no information, aside for what is listed in the product description here. Nothing about light output, or light temperature. It is most likely around 6,500K - 7,500K, but at 11 W it seems to be quite powerful compared to other similar lights. One disadvantage with all of these cheap lights is you can manually switch between daylight and night light, but you cannot separately control the white/blue, so you cannot use a timer to create a day/night cycle. I ended up doing the night light with my Marineland hidden LED, which has .06W LEDs, which I now use for night lighting. By comparison the LEDs in this light are 0.15W each (11W divided by 72 lights equals .15W each).I've had some experience with cheap LEDs where the individual LEDs simply burn out over time, and that gets annoying. Supposedly the LEDs in this fixture can be replaced or you can even add more LEDs if you want it even stronger, but the manufacturer provides no information on how to do that. I will probably keep tracking the performance of this light on my blog at 3xaquarium on blogspot dot com.Update October 23rd, 2016: The light has performed really well for me, my plants are ripping along, but I don't seem to have any algae problem, and I really like the brightness. In other words, so far this is a great success.

Amazing so far......
The media could not be loaded. I bought the 20-27inch for my 10 gallon planted aquarium. I’m typing this one day into owning it. It was shipped fast came perfect. With 60 white led and 12 blue led this light has some amazing brightness. The video I took along with this post is day on I’ll be taking another on week 2. I can see it has improved my plants a little already well shall see in a weeks time.

Great investment buy now for planted aquarium!
Holy crap this light is awesome! Plants are thriving and fish are thriving. My mollies had aome fries and now they all are easier to see hiding in my foreground plants. Super bright for 11watt light. Doesnt fit a standard 29 gallon tank the arms are just about an inch off but easy fix if your a diy kind of person. Altogether I love it! Well worth the money. Remember it is not waterproof! So if it slips in the tank its a goner.

Perfect... for four days.
I received this last thursday. I was thrilled; the light was beautiful and I was so excited to finally have my plants grow. Cut to today, and I wake up and go to turn the light on to find it refuses. At first I thought that maybe one of my fuses had blown, or the extension chord had crapped out. I quickly realized that my filter and heater were still working, and they were plugged into the same extension chord. After trying all different combinations, plugging into different sockets, jostling the wire, I’ve given up. This things died out of nowhere after four days. I’m pissed and annoyed, because I recently planted some high light plants that will die with my old light.I don’t know if I got a bad model, or if all of these lights are shoddy, but I’m extremely disappointed.

It's a great light at a great price
I am doubting if this light has actinic lighting, but my anemone is still alive, so I guess my purpose is served. It's a great light at a great price, very bright and looks very tidy sitting on top of my aquarium. I had a whole mish-mash of lighting fixtures on top of my 20G tank until this light came in, definitely made things easier to manage. Love the pull-out 'arms' concept but the 'arms' fall completely off with so much as a tilt which resulted in me dropping the whole light into my tank TWICE. I'm clumsy I guess, but really, I feel like I have to be SUPER EXTRA careful moving my light because of this. Dropping lights into tank is dangerous due to electricity and it could damage your light permanently. 5 leds now fail to light up because of my mishaps and I feel so sore wishing I had grown an extra arm to properly hold onto my light while trying to take it off to clean. Technically it's a 3-part fixture that can separate all the way. Please take note of this when you move your light in any way because it could happen to you. Unlike my last light which was a very similar design with adjustable arms, there is nothing keeping the arms from sliding freely. My old light that I have on my 5G tank has some rubber material on the arms to grab onto the inside of the holes on the ends, so it never slides and I can feel confident I won't drop it accidentally. NEVER grab this light fixture by the 'arms', ONLY grab it by the body. Otherwise, you WILL regret. It's better the arms slide off and drop into the tank rather than the light itself.
