I have used edible gold paint before but from now on will use this instead. It’s extremely easy to apply and a little goes a long way. I used it over royal icing that had dried as well as a cookie without icing. It took a few coats to go over the blue royal icing, (I suspect had the icing been white, it would have required less to show gold color). I would recommend applying on a cookie without icing. It adheres great and really looks like shimmering gold. I applied it dry using a new small soft paint brush. Don’t use paint brushes with the stiff nylon bristles bc you lose more product that way. Highly recommend and will definitely reorder, although I think this container will last me a very long time. One thing to note, some gold specks (like glitter) showed on the cookie area where I did not apply but hardly enough to really notice but may be important if you are decorating small details.
