Yes, you have to bypass the ballast but it’s a good thing (consumed about 2.5W extra).Note that the light CAN ROTATE up to 90 degrees with respect to the connector, this is important in applications where the connectors are vertical, otherwise the bulb would shine more inside the housing.

I installed these in my RV and they do require you to do some rewiring which isn't very difficult. The problem is they flicker. I kept seeing something flickering out of the corner of my eye and then I discovered it was the new lights. The flickering is bad enough that I will have to replace these with something else.UPDATE: I was wrong about the flicker. I found a problem with my DC electrical system that was causing the flicker. These lamps were flickering when other lamps didn't so I blamed the lamp. After my DC power system was repaired the flicker was gone. The lamps are working well.

Accidentally purchased the wrong Kelvin rating (6000K) and had to return to exchange for 3000K. Item returned was in perfect condition, barely taken out of box. Seller had me pay $4.99 in shipping (understandable) AND a forced $12 restocking fee, which is not mentioned anywhere on the product details page (as of 07/23/2020) or the return instructions. Combined with the return shipping cost, that’s almost the cost of an entire new bulb! When contacting customer service, Vince was dismissive and unhelpful on the issue. There is no way in heck they “lost money” on my order besides paying $5 in shipping to my house (for a $60 order). From there, they surely just plugged the bulbs in for 5 seconds to make sure they work, and then wiped them down to prepare them for resale. Probably took 10 minutes to do all of this.It’s a shame because the lights are of decent quality. Be aware, however, that because of the rotatable nature of the bulbs, they’re sometimes a pain to install into G13 bases without constantly rotating the tube on accident while trying to lock into the base. The 6000K tube lights are pretty annoying non-standard Kelvin ratings for this size tube, in my opinion. Maybe for 4-foots in industrial warehouses, but not 1.5-foot for homes. So I don’t know why they sell a 4-pack of these and not of the 3000K.I rate a 4/5 for the lights and a 1/5 for the customer service, for a combined rating of 2/5 stars.There’s better companies to purchase LED’s from out there.

I didn't want to change the original fixtures in my camper, but the light from those 18" fluorescent tubes really sucked. I bought the 3k version of the led replacement tubes, removed the ballasts from the fixtures, and installed the new tubes. Each of the fixtures now produce as much light with the same warmth as a 100 watt incandescent bulb, and they don't produce the heat that the original fluorescent tubes and ballast did. If I get another camper, I'm definitely upgrading to these bulbs.

I was hoping for a little warmer temp in the light color. They are very bright and more "white" than I was hoping, but they work great and they were easy to install as long as you read the instructions and pay attention to the wiring. If you can follow very basic wiring instructions they were easy. I watched a YouTube video I found just to make sure I understood. So just a little warmer color temp and they would be 5 stars

Be prepared to rewire your existing fixture. Rewire was very simple and straightforward though. The one thing that I didn't like about these lights is that the light only shines out of half of the bulb. When the bulb is inserted in the fixture and rotated into place the light from the bulb shines to the side of the fixture not directly down. That is why I only gave three stars on brightness.

Wow! What a difference over fluorescent! Just ordered my second set of four. Easy to convert. Changing from fluorescent to LED is really not that cost effective but.... If you have a 30 AMP coach and an Electronic Control Module, you will benefit going to LED. My ECM would cause my A/C to shed power when I turned the fluorescent lights on. The fluorescent lights would draw from the battery reserve causing the battery charger to activate which caused the ECM to divert power from different sources until the battery was fully charged. My ECM does not shed with two LED lights on. In addition to changing the fluorescent lights to LED, I have replaced 90% of my incandescent lights to LED.

I purchased four of these LED replacements because the fluorescent bulbs kept burning out so often. The fixtures in my motor home hold two tubes apiece. The first fixture, I removed the whole thing and did the re-wiring job as explained on a U tube clip. That turned out well, so the second fixture I retro fitted without removing the fixture. Very easy. The lights are much brighter than the old fluorescent tubes. Very nice.I'm curious to find out how well they withstand the vibration that comes with driving the motorhome. If they hold up and work ok after a thousand miles or so, I'll retrofit the remaining fixtures.

These bulbs are perfect for replacing old fluorescent bulbs. They are bright and long lasting

These are great, easy to install with supplied plan. Produce white light like on add. Just bought more for other fixtures.

Have not installed these yet as it is winter and cold. But they appear to be correct and of good quality. Would give them a 5 star but have not installed yet, so hard to fully evaluate.
