Slightly Different Shape than Original Equipment
The mounting bolt holes lined up exactly with the original, and the overall 6 x 9 speaker was about the same size. The main difference was the original had a taller square shaped magnet, versus the round wider but slimmer magnet on the new one. Compared, face-down, they were similar height, but the new one had wider shoulders to support the magnet. On my '71 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, I had to modify the mounting area for these to fit. They do sound good. The car has the original 8-track AM-FM. BTW these old GMs use 8 ohm speakers.
