I have been making my own body butter using oils and the Better Shea Butter brand bought on Amazon. By itself, that one is much thicker and doesn't melt easily. This one is so creamy and smooth I don't even need to mix it with oils to make a body butter. It already is the consistency of body butter. This one is also a bit lighter in color, and has a fainter smell which I like. It does still have that iconic nutty, "canyon-like" smell as my husband calls it. It is more expensive, but I like how it is organic and fair-trade certified. I do wish, however, it at least came in a glass container for the price. Mine arrived completely liquified (I live in Arizona), but it did not leak out of the jar. It solidified again in about 2 days at room temperature. It would have only taken an hour or so in the fridge. It is also easily absorbed by the skin, and not greasy feeling. It makes your skin feel so soft. I really like this brand, and would highly recommend!Update: the second batch I got was a bit gritty. Almost like there are tiny nut fragments. So that is unfortunate, but it still melts nicely and makes my skin buttery smooth so I would still purchase again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This shea butter is impressive *by C***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 21, 2019* This shea butter is a lovely color, very soft, melts easily in the hands, and is quite pleasant smelling when applied. It has a subtle aroma that swiftly disappears. The packaging is beautiful and the shea butter arrives in a clear, substantial jar with a beautiful silver lid. Chlorine bleached paper leaves a rash on my hands and usually I avoid it, but I had a loved one enter the hospital and nearly die from heart and kidney failure due to viral pneumonia. The church prayed, our family, friends, and co-workers prayed and God responded in a mighty way and began healing my beloved overnight. He avoided two surgeries and the medical staff in the ICU were amazed at how quickly he recovered and continues to recover. After he got off the ventilator and into a step down recovery room, he needed help unwrapping his napkin and straws in the hospital in order to eat and to use paper towels. Of course everything is chlorine bleached and it keeps things sanitary. However, by the time he could handle his own silverware, napkin, straws, and paper towels, my hands were covered in a bright red rash due to my chlorine bleached paper allergy. I ran out of my shea butter and couldn’t find it in the store after they reorganized. I had ordered this shea butter as a gift for a friend and remembered it. I’m so grateful he’s ok and I’m extremely blessed to have this shea butter now that I need it. This shea butter is easier to melt and apply than my previous jar and it brought welcome relief and rapid healing to my hands. The rash is not obvious only three days later. I’m grateful to God for his mercy and blessings to me, both large and small. I am grateful to have my loved one returned to me from the brink of death, and I am grateful for the shea butter. Very glad I did (bought 2nd within a week of receipt of the 1st purchase - THAT's a good endorsement!). What I appreciate - texture is the best out of several various brands I have tried - not grainy and relatively easy (for shea butter) to spread if you are using this straight vs. mixing or whipped. I originally purchased to make a body butter, but so far loving it as is! I like that the box has both the batch date AND the est. expiration date (with oils and butters this is pretty important to know). I appreciate that it is ORGANIC and unrefined with a minimal natural smell of shea butter - ie fresh batch!!
