Cheap and bright enough as a primary torch...
I bought this for my wife who was taking her Open Water class. I seriously thought it would be a barely adequate starter light to become a backuptorch for night dives but I was wrong. Does it put out 1000+ lumens? No. I compared this to my Dorcy 500 lumen dive light that uses 3 AA cellsand is 3 x larger. It is a decent $100 light (that I bought 2-for-1 deal on Black Friday and sold the free one for $50). I must say this $28 single lithium cell light was 95% as bright and the same filed of illumination as the Dorcy. This was day diving comparisons, even at noon it was usefulat over 6' from the reef, more under crevices from that distance. I never ran it continiusly to test the battery life so cannot comment. But at 1/3 the size and weight of the Dorcy it is a keeper. I gave my Dorcy to the divemaster as a gift. NOTE. I already had the correct batteries and charger for this light, which made the price a no brainer. After 14 dives I have to give this light 5 stars considering the price and size. I may optfor a fancy Big Blue true 1000+ dive light at 5 x the price but this lamp is totally enough as a budget primary light.

Bright light, sturdy construction.
I purchased this light for diving.First, the light is large. If you want a Goodman glove for it, the only one that will fit it is the BigBlue glove.Second, the light appears to be real 3000 lumens. I have a friend that has a BigBlue 3000 lumen light and the intensity is about the same. I actually prefer this light to the BigBlue because the Sofirn light has a little halo and lights up more area around the center bright spot.Third, the fact that I can replace the rechargeable batteries is a plus. I have several sets (you need 4) and I don't worry about running out of juice on a consecutive dives. The light feels sturdy. I took it to 100ft on a 40 minute dive and was fine. The battery was on at maximum for the duration of the dive. The only thing that I would improve on is the switch. It is sometimes challenging to turn it on or change brightness at depth, with gloves, especially if you have it in the BigBlue Goodman glove.

Great scuba diving light. Extremely bright and had no issues after several 100 foot dives
Great scuba diving light. Extremely bright and had no issues after several 100 foot dives. I was a little concerned when they arrived in a box labeled bicycle light, but after inspecting the o rings I decided that they must be the right lights and they do work great for diving. The four batteries have plenty of power to last for a couple of dives between charges. It is very easy to attach a lanyard to the handle and clip it to your BC. I ordered two lights, but one of the lights had a defective bulb, so check your lights as soon as you get them. They do have great customer service and they sent me a new light as soon as I informed them of the defective bulb.

Stopped working after first use.
Only worked for one dive. One second dive, the light flickered and stopped working. Tried with other battery and with a battery that was working in my buddy's light. The inside of the battery compartment stayed dry so it was not user error or a problem with leaking. Also noted corrosion on the case despite being rinsed in fresh water after each use. Now I am going to do what I should have done in the first place, buy a better quality light. By the time you add up the cost of the batteries and the wrist mount, you could by a much better light for not much more. Much better than buying one that will die and then having to buy a better one later anyway.

Inconsistant Functioning
Fortunately I tried this at home for a while before taking it underwater. The light turned off intermittently after less than a minute of use so heat buildup wasn't the issue. Shaking it would usually get the light to turn back on but clearly, you don't want to do this on a night dive. It's a shame because I liked the design.

Not any good for diving
Unfortunately while these are nice looking flash lights and work well out of the water they are no good as Dive lights. Once you go below 50 Ft the lights will stop working. when you ascend to above 50ft they will start to function again but as a dive light they fail to meet the need of the diver. If you are looking for a camping light these would be great. If you are looking for a diving light I would look at something different.

I liked the brightness of the spot
I took it on 3 dives as my backup. The first dive was around 95 feet. Up on the boat after the 3rd dive, I had to push the button three or four times to turn the light on. Water leaked out from under the button. If it doesn't work reliably, I can't use it. Otherwise, I liked the brightness of the spot, the compact size and solid feel.

It works great!
I'm changing my last review from 1 star to 5.I can't explain how that happen but the light at 75ft didn't work and i was disappointed but it worked at 170 ft perfectly so I have to give it 5 stars because it deserves it it's really good and I hope it keeps like that!
