Midnights

This was the first album by Taylor Swift that I purchased. I am a 30-something Millennial who loves genres like Jazz, Progressive Rock, Ragtime and Swing Music. I vaguely knew who Taylor Swift was, but never bothered to listen to her music until this album came out. It all started with 'Anti-Hero' and then songs like 'Lavender Haze' and 'Karma'. You can tell how much effort she has put into the lyrics! I love listening to albums that are deeply personal and empowering! Though these lyrics are about Taylor herself (in terms of her insecurities, etc.), it was as if these lyrics were written for me! Beautiful album. I also love the catchy beats, which is the icing on the cake in my opinion. Oh and I got really excited when I heard the name of her upcoming album. If that album is going to be anything like this one, I will definitely be purchasing a copy! :)

Cd is gorgeous and came with no scratches when it arrived.

I bought this album fairly recently. You may assume that Taylor Swift was perhaps just another vanilla, bubble-gum pop artist whose artistic output was probably muted by a record label or an entourage of brand/ image consultants. What is apparent is that this album is written by someone who is in charge and a genuine talent and who writes with sincerity. The album is brilliant and shows maturity, depth of thought and is representative of most thirty somethings who are absorbing and learning from life’s lessons and experiences. I would ask that you leave your preconceptions of the artist at the door and just enjoy.What’s also great is I have had the back catalogue which I was relatively unfamiliar with, to also experience. It’s been a real Pharaoh’s tomb and shows retrospectively (to me as least) her song writing and singing journey. The albums illustrate her massive diversity, change in mood and pace; the sign of a good singer-songwriter. It’s been an epiphany. Midnights is one of her best. Buy without hesitation.

great album by a great artist

As the sleeve of cd says this album is made up from songs where there’s 13 times she couldn’t sleep, this is a more synth pop album you’ll probably love it if you like Taylor herself

13 amazing tracks. Once again Taylor shows why she is one of the top female artists in the world. Folklore and Evermore were 2 of my absolute favourite albums from last year, think midnights is going to take top spot again.Another album that may not appeal to fans who only like her earlier real country material, but I love it.Some of the tracks contain the f*** word so may not be suitable for younger fans, but her other albums also have this content.High quality sleeve notes with some great colour photos, she is a very beautiful lady.
