What is the waist size for Xl and l in Inches

Very little as experienced the waist size between Medium and XL Either will fit you. A few sheets of crumpled Jumbo sized kitchen roll will increase the level of absorption. Pull down the front for a quick pee.

Can these pants be used in conjunction with level 3 Tena pads please?

the pants don't need additional pads they are designed to be worn on their own. However if you need level 3 they may not be sufficient to ware alone and you should be able to put a pad inside but there would be more cost effective ways

Do these come in a larger size

In my experience the medium size will fit tightly around normal XL. I would try the largest size possible.

Am I right to think you need to have a number of these, so you can put on a fresh one each day between two dark-wash days?

Definitely - must admit I bought 4 pairs when there was an offer and wished I’d gone the whole hog and bought 7 pairs. BTW comfortable and you can’t tell they are any different to normal boxers.
