Addition to my collection
I actually forget about this sequel, which is actually the setup for the chucky series. My husband definitely appreciated this one, since he kept asking me if there are anymore chucky movies .

Now on the other hand it is very cool to see someone keep this series alive and well ...
OK. I have seen and heard all of the negative reviews and quite honestly I half agree with them and half disagree with them. So I do agree that the series is dragging on and at times grasping for straws to keep it alive. Now on the other hand it is very cool to see someone keep this series alive and well I mean lets face it next to Michael Meyers, I mean C-MON people its CHUCKY. I almost forgot for the haters, yes the movie did have a plot and tie in to the series that made sense, those comments are total BS. The movie leaves off and is a sequel to CHILD'S PLAY 6 curse of CHUCKY. Andy barkley has CHUCKY locked up in a secret vault, the original that is and what is left of him anyways. He toys with him to torture CHUCKY as CHUCKY tortured Andy. Mean while the main character from curse of CHUCKY is sent to a mental institution when the therapist introduces a good guy doll for therapy, soon after that strange things start to happen and the murders start all over again, but how CHUCKY is locked up at ANDY's which is confusing until it is revealed that the curse works on any good guy doll and Charles lee Ray can transfer his soul into multiple good guy dolls which explains how CHUCKY has 9 lives and always comes back. So Andy comes to the hospital to save the day but gets locked up in the institution when we learn CHUCKY can transfer his soul into humans as well. Now CHUCKY is on the loose again with his bride tiffany as a human. The movie leaves you with the major cliffhanger makes you want to see the next sequel. Now the series has to end, CHUCKY got power to transfer his soul to another human and with ANDY back in the picture will Charles LEE Ray somehow find his remains and get out of the Doll or curse if you may or will ANDY DESTROY CHUCKY FOREVER. TO BE CONTINUED.

What's the problem? Maybe not for everyone, but...
I don't understand how polarized this movie's collective viewer reaction has been. From my standpoint, (the standpoint of a long-time Chucky franchise fan), writer/director Don Mancini has triumphed in his continued attempt the refresh this saga. While I certainly agree that if this is your FIRST exposure to a Chucky movie you are bound to have a multitude of questions, who ever said that the seventh installment in a horror franchise had to fully inform every "Johnny-come-lately" as to the course of action? This movie should motivate those who aren't familiar with Chucky to go back and watch every installment, THEN they can understand and be involved. Don Mancini's first directorial attempt with "Seed of Chucky" was and remains equally polarizing. But even tracing the growth of his skill as a director from "Seed" to "Curse" to "Cult" lent an added kick for me. Technically, the color palette contrasts stark, neutral backgrounds with vivid hues on Chucky, Tiffany, and the blood that's spilled throughout, which creates a highly stylized look unlike any other Chucky movie. And I can only hope this movie generates enough profit and demand for the next chapter which, I predict, would also play out as another welcome departure from the otherwise cookie-cutteresque genre of the horror sequel.

I just have to watch them all and I can watch them all over again (except for Seed) and still enjoy them. Cult of Chucky managed to do something ...
I have been a Chucky fan since I was a kid. I just have to watch them all and I can watch them all over again (except for Seed) and still enjoy them. Cult of Chucky managed to do something that a Chucky movie should not have been able to do, confuse me. I was actually wondering what was going on at times, in a good way. And the ending... I just need the next movie right now.If you are a Chucky fan this is a great movie and adds to the series in a good, and unexpecting, way. A movie about a doll named Chucky is how it all started, and after seven movies they are starting to go in another direction. The first three Chucky movies were horror movies. The next two were comedy movies. Curse of Chucky went back to horror. This one is horror with some comedy for those of us who like both, although it is mostly creepy, scary, and psychological.
