It works!
I used this to attempt to identify a fungal pathogen infecting local caterpillars. I was unable to from the samples I took, but it had nothing to do with this stain, as you can see in the photos it works great! This dye stains the cellular walls of fungi to make them easier to see than without the stain. It has a strong almost sweet tobacco-y odor but I wasn't too bothered by it, and it will definitely stain anything it touches so wear gloves and be careful with it.
