Yessss! So good!
I love these cashews and find them to be a high quality nut that tastes delicious right out of the bag. However, I've also used them in a variety of ways....I soak them and use them to make organic cashew milk (with a medjool date or two thrown in for sweetness and a little vanilla for flavor), and it's the best nut milk you can imagine...my favorite way of using these nuts. I've thrown them into smoothies to add creaminess without any dairy, and I also use them to add creaminess while cooking. I've added them to roasted tomato soup instead of adding heavy cream, to cream of cauliflower soup instead of milk or cream, into a variety of pasta sauces for creaminess, etc. They essentially replace milk/heavy cream for me, and you don't even need that many nuts! For example, I made about a quart of the roasted tomato soup, and I only soaked and added about a scant handful of them to give them an amazing creaminess and velvety texture.

Excellent quality, freshness and price
These cashews were huge, very fresh smell and taste, clean, and the price was excellent. I will be re-ordering for sure. I had been getting whole raw cashews from Raw Food World, but they are too expensive. Compared to what is available from the bulk bins in the natural food stores in my area, these cashews put all the others to shame. You will not be disappointed with your purchase...I certainly wasn't!

Excellent Quality - Fast Shipping
After reading many reviews from different sellers, it is apparent that there is a wide variation in quality and size of cashews being received despite the claims of the sellers. I asked "Food to Live" if they were certified organic and what was the date of harvest. His response was that the 50 pound bags from which the smaller quantities are taken are certified organic. Because the smaller packages were not specifically certified he could not advertise them as such. Good answer! The harvest date was newest crop from 2013. The taste is excellent, they are very large cashew with almost no pieces, and I dry roasted them in a Behmor 1600 coffee roaster. These are the best cashews I have tasted in a long time. I have used the raw cashews to make vegan salad dressings and other gluten free foods. Taste and quality are excellent!

Good but takes long time to arrive
Takes a full 7 days to arrive from amazon after the date the order is placed. Keep it in mind so you don't run out! First order had hardly any broken pieces, the 2nd 4 LB bag I received was roughed up in shipping and had many pieces and some powder. You may want to get a larger size for the free shipping and have no other items on your order so the other items in the box don't roll around on the cashews and grind them up. Good flavor and not rancid, no shell fragments, stones etc. Store in the refrigerator. Ate up every speck!UPDATE 6/2014 - ordered direct from Food-to-live, order came much faster, no broken pieces, free shipping, and different grades...I got the W-240 organic cashews in the 8lb bag, they were great. 4 stars for amazon slow shipping, 5 stars for the cashews if shipped direct from FTL.

Acceptable bulk cashews
I bought the 10# and got one batch from Vietnam (good color, wonderful light fishstick aroma, oily, plump, absolutely delicious) and one batch from India (pale, dry, dusty, broken and NO flavor). So I went to buying the 12# organic. Source origin of the few bags I ordered, Brazil. They had some oiliness, aroma, and flavor, several cuts above the India sourced, and not as good as the Vietnam sourced. Though these are 'organic', and overall seemed a better product than the 'standard run' stuff Food To Live sells in the 10# bag.All bags I received no matter what source were at least one year out for best by date, so should have been plenty fresh. Food To Live did reach out for me for my 10# review and we discussed the issues amicably.Meanwhile, I would recommend this as a fair balance between freshness, quality, flavor, quantity, and price. I did go elsewhere after two bags of these, to a place that is FRESH Vietnam origin, organic, and 50# bulk order, with comparable price hike for buying 4x what this bag is.My use is for cashew milk (3/4 cup a batch, about 40-45 batches a month) and vegan cheese making (about 1 cup a batch); and I go through about 15-18# a month. So one of these bags was just about a month's supply (just for cashew milk). If you will use these within 3-4 months then this is a good buy as they will stay fresh airtight stored. Just as the other Food to Live products, the bag is very heavy and has a good top resealable seam, you can burp out air and reseal it between uses. (one cup cashews is about 5 ounces or just a little more)

These are the best raw cashews I've ever eaten
These are the best raw cashews I've ever eaten. Fresh, sweet, unblemished and delicious. Excellent product. Here's a recipe for a sort of "creme anglaise", it's really a coconut-cashew cream and it is divine! It's absolutely AMAZING over fresh berries in the summer.Soak 1/4 cup cashews for 1-4 hours in filtered water and strain.Put them in a blender with 2 cups home-made coconut milk (canned-full-fat coconut milk would work too)Blend for 2 minutes and the softened cashers are smooth and liquified. For that real creme anglaise taste, I add a little bit of honey or maple syrup and a dash of vanilla.OMG - Heaven!

These cashews taste fresh. They are not salted, ...
These cashews taste fresh. They are not salted, and don't need it at all. I received 4 pounds of them on time, in whole grains, a few days back, and they are already almost finished! At this price, I guess I would have to work harder to afford them! Now, after a few months, I reordered. But, this time I ordered 8 pounds of them. So hopefully they will last longer! They are too good to last! But, since they are healthy, and my wife starts liking them too, then, I could tolerate if they don't last twice as long. After all, we work hard, and we afford them, and therefore, most probably, we deserve their tasty freshness.

delicious!
I eat a lot of cashews and these are the best I've eaten. Soft with a mild sweet flavour and very filling. Also very healthy. I was ordering the 1 pound bags but have moved up to the 4 pound bags (which saves me money and time). They have all been fresh and tasty. Highly recommended!

Einmal um die Welt
Nüsse sind geschmacklich okay. Aber bei "product of India" und "Packed in the USA" ist der CO2 Abdruck vollkommen überzogen.
