104 grommets and about 3 hours later (most of that time was spent measuring), I can confidently confirm this is a great product. It was a little confusing at first as there werent really any instructions, but once I got the hang of it, using it was extremely easy. Again, I did 104 grommets in this piece (plus a handful of practice ones) and it only took 3 hours and I took a few breaks for my hand. I often see reviews of grommets where the metal will split after pressing, this really only happened 3 times and they were very very minor cracks. The grommets are about 1/4 inch in total diameter, the eyelet is a tad smaller. I was worried they were going to be a little too small when I opened the box, but I ended up being very happy with the final product. The other colors included were also very nice, I used the darker bronze ones. Both silver were very similar but one was a bit darker. The tool that cut the holes was very sharp but you do have to press down a bit hard to get a clean cut. The hole the tool cut was a perfect fit for the grommets. The fabrics I used were two basic cotton broadcloths and a layer of slightly heavy weight sew-in interfacing. The tie is just a cotton string.TDLR; everyone should get this set for doing their grommets, super easy and sturdy grommets.

I used this tool to repair my combat boots that had failing fabric lace guides. It did take a lot of force to cut through the thick material but it did cut clean holes. I saw people in the review that struggled to cut, but if you back the die out a couple turns you can get more leverage to make the cut. The instructions could be better so if you've never used this tool I would watch a quick YouTube video to familiarize yourself with the process.

I ordered this yesterday and it arrived today. I used it on about 19 flannel banner flags that I made for a welcome home thing. Flanner can be sort of stretchy but it worked out just fine. As a matter of fact, I forgot to put on the back pieces of the eyelets/grommets and it all still worked well for my purposes. Now I just want to know if I can purchase the fittings for the same tool but for a 1/8 inch sized eyelet. Will reach out to seller.P.S. I see other people stating the hole made is too small for the grommet, or conversely, the grommet is too large for the hole. I measured the grommets and personally I think they are more towards 1/4 inch rather than the stated 3/16th's.

The idea is nice...the tool handles well and the spring works well...but the cutter tip is worthless...it makes a tiny, tiny hole that the grommets DO NOT fit through. It presses the gromets nicely...but once again, you need a good hole to fit the grommet through. Sadly I think this will have to be returned and the other style purchased

Such a great little tool. Worked perfect for my project. The tool could be more solid in the handle because I can see how it could break with too much squeeze. But since I knew others were having problems with it breaking I made sure not to squeeze too hard. Also, the cutter attachment worked fine for my fabric. I tried out on single layer muslin and then on interfaced silk corset and it worked fine for both. It was worth the buy

But the plyers though.... absolutely trash.

The hole punch and eyelet setter took itself is well-made. It is sturdy, and is not hard to squeeze to perform its function. The grommets are good, they are not hard to crimp.I have several minor complaints about this set, however.1) If you have never used a leather hole punch or eyelet setter before, you will have a difficult time figuring out how this works. It does not include a true instruction booklets (there is a picture on the front of the box, and if you squint hard, you can tell which 2 of the 4 pieces go together for which task, barely).2) Sometimes you need to squeeze the tool twice to punch a single hole. It’s not hard to do, but is annoying if you have to punch a lot of holes, and if you haven’t used a leather hole punch before, it might be hard to realize it didn’t punch the hole, and then you have to line it up all over again.3) The eyelets aren’t in resealable bags. They’re going to get everywhere.4) The eyelets require a lot of effort to push through the holes. This isn’t usual. The kit should either make holes just a TINY bit bigger, or the eyelets should be a tiny bit smaller. Otherwise it’s going to exponentially increase the amount of time it takes for each project using these.5) No way to “lock” the tool closed to save space. This would have greatly improved this item. In the “open” position it takes up a ton of room, and would be much easier to store in the “closed” position. Most rotary hole punches have this.6) I don’t like that I have to keep track of a tiny screwdriver (it’s cute and it matches the tool) to change out the attachments. It’s annoying. I will only need to change it out once as long as I can punch all my holes and the crimp all my eyelets, but it’s very likely I will forget a few and have to change the attachments multiple times. (Annoying!)I used this kit on upholstery leather and it was able to (barely) crimp two layers of leather onto one eyelet. I doubt it would work on one layer of tooling leather.The box it came in is good quality and decent for storing the tool and the grommets.Overall I like it a lot. There are a lot of small things I wish were different, but it’s a good quality item, it does what it is supposed to do, the eyelets are nice and I can use them whether I use this tool or not. Honestly I was surprised that the hole punch of that style worked. It’s one of the first I’ve seen of that style that punch all the way around.

This is suchhhhh a good deal. The tool is PINK and seems pretty sturdy, and it makes the grommet process super easy. It's crazy how many grommets they give you in this set! I feel like I'll never run out of grommets again. I used about 100 for a Halloween costume and still have COUNTLESS leftover. Overall, a can't-miss deal :)
