Q: do they come in smaller sizes?

sorry, we only have these pins in one size.

Q: Would these strong enough to puncture a thick rubber material?

This is not the style of pin I bought...I bought the open ended things. The open ones will penetrate heavy material, I know for sure as I use them in older jeans pants that had elastic waist that stretched out. I put a gather in the back with the open end pins and it has enough looseness to move when putting on and wearing those ants and are tight enough to stay up without a belt or suspenders. I'd only considered buying these close end ones. .. but hope that helps a little. If they're the 3-4 inch pins as mine are, they ought to be sharp enough. If they're the blanket pins, about 5 inches or more, which I also bought, they won't oenetrate. The pointed end have deliberately ground flat. I haven't tried to restructure them so they've never been used.

Q: Is this safe to use for laundry? I want to use the pins to wash the practice uniforms.

The pins are HUGE and would make a bit of a racket in the washing machine but they are stain-less and shouldn’t be prone to rusting too quickly. I wouldn’t put these in the dryer for fear of damage to the internal drum or dryer fins.
