Awesome reel
Bought 2 of these reels for Bull reds and black tips in the gulf and have zero complaints, bail arm is sturdy you have to close it manually, retrieve is insanely fast, bait runner works flawlessly. Can toss 6oz lead way past any break line with no effort. Have both paired with 11ft penn carnage II's with 300yrd of 50lb Max cuatro. With 33lbs of drag these reels will slay anything they hook.

Design problem
During casting, the rotor assembly does not locked in place but moving freely and may interfere with the line. if you cast with the heavy weigh, it can close the bail during casting. It is very dangerous, you may hurt people close to you or you can throw the rod into the water. I bought this reel on May 30, 2018 for sturgeons fishing on Willamette river from a pier in North West Portland. On 9/20/2018 the bail closed on me, and the weight was pulling hard and I slipped my hand. I lost my rod in the river. I have fished for more than 30 years, this is the first time that I lost my rod. I sent an message to Shimano, inform them about the design fault, but they haven't responded yet.
