Sony Alpha 1 Full-Frame Interchangeable Lens Mirrorless Camera & Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II Lens

This is a great camera. It focuses quickly, it tracks accurately (most of the time). It delivers great picture quality. As with most digital cameras, I habitually underexpose by one stop in order not to blow up the highlights. I then bring up the shadows in post.The defect is that when the sun is behind your back and it shines on the viewfinder, the viewfinder blacks out. I have lost a few pictures of birds in flight because I could not see. By the time I shadowed the viewfinder the birds were gone. This occurs even if you set the viewfinder manually. Four stars only until Sony fixes this defect.

It's a really nice camera and it takes amazing photos, however, the battery life is not the best so make sure you invest in a second or even third battery. Good thing is you can still use your batteries from you other Alpha cameras.

The camera is amazing. I needed a camera for family portraits and underwater wildlife/landscape video. This camera is the perfect hybrid photo/video. I am really impressed with both departments. More expensive than the R5, but the peace of mind of knowing that is not going to overheat inside the underwater case, great custom white balance and super35 no binding 4k made me decide.

I volunteer once a week at our animal shelter for photos for Petfinder. The eye focus for animals is spot on. The second photo is of a cat who wouldn't come out of the kennel in a dark room. The photo was taken at 12800 ISO with very little grain; which was easy to fix in LR.

There is a fatal flaw with this camera in which it will suddenly go into a reboot cycle when it is turned on and won't allow use, factory reset, or firmware update. This appears to be a systemic issue as there have been multiple reports of this issue and it needing repair of the mainboard by Sony. And it occurs randomly so good luck if this happens outside the 1 year warranty window. Hopefully Sony addresses this issue on a wider scale.

It has everything I wanted! 8K is amazing and the focus is fast and accurate!

This is my third Sony camera and it won't be the last one.

I was waiting forever for this camera. Compact, superb video quality. Super customizable. Amazing codecs that actually work. Amazing autofocus. Amazing viewfinder. 12 bit 422, Slog3. It’s a dream.

I ordered the a1 sometime in September came within accouple days, Great but to my surprise the item I received was not a camera.so what I learned from this experience is that you should just go out and buy your camera from henry's and bhphoto's
