Beautiful workmanship on this iconic costume from The Seven Year Itch, it was great fun to recreate this classic scene in a photo series.

Bad: The material is very thin (not formal quality) - so you can see pretty much right through the breast and skirt area. Other reviews advised a slip or bra. I could see a slip, but the top is so low cut, I don't know how a bra would work. Even if you could find one with a deep plunge, there is the back, which is really low. As some reviews said, it is longer than you would expect. I am 5'4" and had to cut 4" off the bottom to make it look normal. The breast panels are very large, and although I am very large chested for my height, their was a lot of puckering on the outside = too much sideboob for this lady. All was easily mended, except the bra part. I guess maybe I should have ordered some pasties?Good: The mid waist panel is the most flattering part, supportive enough and not sheer. It is not stretchy, though. Be careful when pulling over your hips - I could hear the fabric rip a couple of times taking it off - and I'm not huge, I just have an hourglass figure. Can't beat the price for a costume dress.Ugly: Also, whoever is "wearing this as a regular dress" is a lunatic. It's clearly a Marilyn costume. If you showed up at a formal event with this dress on, I would laugh at you. It is well made...FOR A COSTUME.

I was happy with the fit of this dress. I am normally a 8/10 in dresses and ordered a Large and the fit was perfect. I was disappointed in how see through the skit portion of the dress was, you could see everything clear as day. I somewhat expected this as I know costume material is normally cheap. Just be aware that you will need a slip to wear under it. Also the material around the bosom are is somewhat see through, not as much as the skirt. I planned on wearing a sticky bra with it and you could very much so see the outline of the bra which was not cute. I was able to improvise and figure something out. Overall the dress is what you would expect to get for the money you are spending.

This is the perfect Marilyn Monroe dress, it is however completely see through so beware. We purchased some white spandex shorts and they worked great for keeping things hidden. It is very thin also so if it's a cold night where you are, expect to freeze

I am 5'3 weighing 150 lbs. Others would order large, but I like to order a little smaller because I have a "suck in my gut" article of clothing, so I ordered a medium. This dress was perfect! But if u want to look sexy, order a short one. I had to roll it up. It comes down to my shin.

This dress was perfect, it was more than I expected. It wasn't expensive so I wouldn't have been shocked if it looked cheap but lucky for me it was nice and did not look cheap at all, fit pretty much as it should maybe just a tiny bit big <<<<<<< A TINY BIT big. I would still use whatever size you usually use. It was a bit see through but not too bad. personally I liked it.

This is a nice dress and does not seem like a costume. I could wear this when not dressing as Marilyn Monroe. Other reviewers wrote of it being too shear and I did not find this to be true. In fact I was personally hoping for more sheerness. The halter top has plenty of fabric for full coverage; too much for my taste. The dress is quite long as stated by others and of course since I don't walk around with a fan blowing my skirt up it hangs low on my legs and I have long legs. Someone who is short would probably need to get this shortened. My only complaint it that the wide band at the waist, which is a different fabric and just slightly yellower than the rest of the dress, is also just a bit too tight. In fact some of the stitching is coming undone which leads me to believe that someone with a bigger waist line tried it on and returned it for a larger size. Again this is more of a dress than a costume which most women would like. For the party which I am attending something a little sexier would have been preferable but this is more true to Marilyn's dress.

The dress fit well all over, but was quite long on me (I'm 5'3"), so I ended up cutting off a couple of inches from the skirt. Be warned, the fabric is very, very thin and almost see-through at points. I wore it with "headlight" covers and seamless underwear. It was Halloween, so I didn't much care about it's transparency, but if you're someone who doesn't want that level of exposure I would consider a different product (or wear a slip underneath it).

This is a halloween costume, so the material is on the thin side and it's jammed into one of those flat plastic envelope-packages you see with a cardboard front at department stores on a hanger. If you're expecting a Monroe-worthy dress you'll be disappointed. Does NOT come with the wig (item description does NOT include it so that's as expected). It's wrinkled and will need to be washed to remove sizing etc. but again if you're familiar with these costumes this is normal. I haven't tried it on yet but expect it will be as described. The fabric looks like it will weather light food droppage and some makeup if you remove the residue and clean it promptly, but your mileage may vary. I got it at a good price for my costume bin, would recommend if you aren't afraid of wearing a thin white dress :)
