After a couple wearings the "leather" began to fray and the strips broke. Very disappointed. Couldn't return since I didn't start to wear it until October and the return date had passed. Other wise it it would have gone back.UPDATE: After the above review, we were contacted by the vendor Lofty Lines. Although the "return date" had passed we were asked for a photo of the defective belt. "Upon further review" they offered to replace the belt with TWO improved similar belts. The belts arrived today and we're eager see how they hold up. That is what we call excellent customer service!THIS IS AN UPDATE ON THE NEW BELTS THE VENDOR SENT - The belts are a much better quality, the manufacturer stated that they were changing how the product was being made, and they certainly have kept their promise. I wondered at first if it was leather because of the way it felt at first, quite stiff. The sides where the leather braid turns around and back in has been shaved flat. Kind of odd, I think, not like most braided leather belts. It is stamped "China leather". It has gotten softer as I've worn it. Probably leather. Don't know why they shaved the sides flat. Otherwise it is fine enough. I had previously purchased a similar belt from a department store that stretched over time and the braided parts loosened. This one does not stretch (that's a good thing).
