The case has a smooth matte finish and appears to be of sturdy construction. The surfaces that contact the phone are micro fiber and should protect the phone from any damage from small particulates that sometimes get trapped between the case and the phone. All the buttons work as expected and are as clicky as if you didn't have a case installed. A little flimsy at the raised edge in the areas of the buttons and this would be my only reservation but so far this hasn't been a problem. I am not going to assume this case will protect my phone from drops for that reason alone.
