Best hand held vacuum I ever used!!

Lets start with the good:Suction is greatLiquid separator works wellDirt cup is decently sized and easy enough to emptyFilter is durable foam and easily washableThe flip-out tool is very convenient for getting into cornersBattery life is more than sufficient for the spot cleaning it is designed forNow for the not-so-good:The design of the liquid separator and the dirt cup, by necessity, creates a dirt trap directly in-front of the filter, which cannot be emptied without removing the foam filter from the housing. I suspect the suction problem most people experience with this unit are due to this, as any blockage would also be totally invisible with the filter in place. The instructions do say to remove the filter every time you empty the dirt cup, and I would recommend people follow this instruction.The dirt cup also does not have a spring-loaded flap like a lot of hand vacuums. Given the liquid separator tube is rather long, it is unlikely dirt will come back out if tilted wrong, but liquid definitely will. Also, anything not dead that you've chosen to suck up (i.e. any insects) will be able to find their way back out.The convenient flip out tool is secured a bit too tightly and the hinges are plastic. I've not had a problem with mine, but I suspect it's not going to last long if used regularly.It is LOUD! If you think a normal vacuum is loud, this is twice so. Not only that, but it is an incredibly harsh tone, which makes it doubly painful again. If you have animals or small children who are startled by, or scared of the vacuum, make sure they're not around when you use this.Overall, I would recommend this unit. I've not had it long enough to speak to any reliability issues, but I will update my review should I encounter any.
