More Spy School!
My son was given the spy school series for his birthday last year and upon learning there were more books than the boxed set he received he wanted the additional books for his birthday this year. He enjoyed the series and this book as well!

Love this book series
Both of my kids are obsessed with this book series. I hope the series continues. My kids have long discussions about what is going on in the book and what characters they love/hate. Best for middle schoolers. This is an easy read.

A step up from Spy School Revolution
So, here we have it, installment #9 in Stuart Gibbs' Spy School series. This one was inspired by a Disney cruise taken by Gibbs and friends. As usual, we have Ben Ripley, a gifted kid who achieves excellent results by not being stupid, Ben's friends who are well-intentioned and sometimes competent, and the ever-expanding dysfunctional Hale family made up of the World's worst spies, who believe themselves to be the World's best spies, including toothsome teen sisters Erica Hale and Trixie Hale. If you love the Spy School books, you will probably love this one, too.In this book, Gibbs gets back some of his mojo after the "meh..." Spy School Revolution. What I like about Spy School is the humor and Ben. In the first book, Spy School, Ben is brought into spy school under false pretenses and set up to fail. By showing unique gifts, Ben manages to succeed despite adverse circumstances. (The reality is that, for the most part, Ben succeeds by being good at things that a real-world spy needs to be good at, while Spy School teaches skills of the James Bond-spy variety. Anyone who has thought about intelligence work seriously knows that James Bond would have been an absolutely terrible spy. So the Spy School series is a sneaky way of showing what it really takes to be a good spy.) It is always a pleasure to see someone succeed through unexpected merit. The good news is that Ben is pretty smart in Spy School at Sea. He really does manage to be the hero of the story. He sees things that others don't. He is still a klutz, incapable of handling weapons, which is endearing in a secret agent novel. The cruise ship allows for some funny situations. Ben's nemesis Murray Hill is quite prominent in this book, and as usual he is comically feckless. Murray is the Daffy Duck to Ben's Bugs Bunny. Also, Erica takes some important steps, which I will say no more about to avoid spoiling. So, yeah, I enjoyed it. But, alas, I am still far from experiencing the same delight I did in the first novel of the series.

Couldn't have asked for a better ending!!!
*SPOLIERS AHEAD* I was just so happy that Erica gave in- my friends were SUPER annoyed that I spoiled it for them but I just couldn't help myself, it was too good of a book. I hate how short it felt even though it's a couple hundred pages long, I read it in one day. I would definitely recommend this book and every other Stuart Gibbs book (I've read them all) for around ages 7+ because of Ben's relationships. SHORT SUMMARYBen is recruited -again- for another mission taking place on a cruise owned by the shang family. As always, things don't go as planned. Murray arrives with Dane who has somehow survived and they cause more trouble than ever before. Ben and his friends soon realize that the ship is not all it's advertised to be, and there are artifacts being stolen, humans being trafficked, and secrets hidden everwhere. Something doesn't seem right to Ben- but does it ever?

Great but...
Great addition to the series, but 'spastic' is a totally unacceptable description to use and jarring to see in what is otherwise an ethical, brilliant and global citizen series. Please remove it from future editions, Mr Gibbs!
