Not the shorter ones, but the ones that can hold more hair?** A: Yes they are longer than average. They hold my thick hair very well. My only complaint the plastic tips come off the Bobby pins easily so just careful not to scratch yourself. **Q: Are these coated in any sort of paint or color?** A: They are coated in a rose gold color. They are horrible pins tho. Damaged my hair when pulling out, & would bend out of shape.
