The thermostat looked like new. I wired it up as per the instructions and then I let the battery charge for about 30 minutes prior to completing the installation. It powered up perfectly and the configuration was simple and straight forward. Working great and saved a lot of money due to purchasing this reconditioned thermostat. 5 STARS!!!

I replaced three older generation Nest thermostats in a zone AC system. It was very simple since all the connections matched. They have been working for over 6 months now and work great! The only hassle was having to re-create all the custom schedules from scratch.

I purchased this Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Generation) on November 10th, and while it looked great out of the box, it has already become a "dumb" thermostat. The WiFi module has completely failed. This is a known, widespread issue with the Gen 3 units (often referred to as the w5 error), rendering all the "smart" features useless. I can no longer control my HVAC from my phone or integrate it with my smart home system. Here is the most frustrating part: because this was a refurbished unit, Google/Nest refuses to offer a replacement or repair. I am essentially stuck with a faulty wall ornament. Do not buy a refurbished Nest thermostat. While the price tag is tempting, these units clearly have a high failure rate regarding their internal WiFi chips, and you will have zero recourse when it inevitably breaks. Save your money and buy new, or choose a brand with better support for their hardware.

The 3rd gen Nest is a winner and I have have four of them now This latest was a renewed unit and it works flawlessly. The 4th gen Nest I recently purchased new and I have returned it. Many many issues. If Google breaks the 3rd gen like they did the 1st and 2nd gen by not making it compatible with the Nest App (and like they also did with 4th gen by not making it Nest App compatible right out of the gate) then all four of my 3rd gen’s are going in the garbage can and I’ll purchase 4 new Ecobees. As it stands now the 3rd gen Nest with its Nest App compatibility is the only thing keeping me around. PS Google Home really sucks

This thermostat does it all. Love the way it looks . I was able to connect it with system i had. Its compatible with different wiring. I like the way it saves you money. I bought a open box one. I am not happy screen was all scratched up. I took care of it by polishing it. It removed most scratches.

I needed to replace my original nest. ***Sorry for the long story*** This review has nothing to do with the product itself....well then again maybe it does. I bought this as an extension because there are multiple zones in my home, one of which is extremely warm while the others are cooled perfectly. When I inquired about the temperature difference, the HVAC technician told me there was nothing wrong with my AC unit I just needed another thermostat and said all I had to do, and I quote, was buy one and stick it onto the wall. Me not being handy at all thought literally that is all that was involved. I bought it and took it out of the box, again, thinking it was that easy to install and found out that it wasn't just battery operated and it needed to be connected to wiring. So looking at the instructions, it gave me a link (g.co/nest/install) which connected me to a sham of a company SafeStreets and the price would be about $135. This literature I got from INSIDE the box and I had to open it to get to the instructions. I ask them to schedule someone to come to do an install and then she asks me where I purchased the product from. I tell her that I bought it from Amazon. She asked me if I took it out the box and tried to install it. I told her I did take it out of the box but I did not try to install it because I saw that it was more complicated than I was able to do. She then tells me that she could schedule an install for me but because I took it out of the box AND because I did not get it directly from the Google store that it would be $435!!! I told her that first, I would not have had the information to contact her if I had not taken it out of the box and secondly, it is a legitimate Nest/Google product. Mind you, the same product was over double what I paid on Amazon. When pressed for a sensible justification as to why it was over $300 more for the install JUST based on where I bought it from, I was not and still have not been given a legitimate explanation. So now, I am stuck with this thing or I can return it and pay double what it costs on the Google store and would still have to end up dealing with shady SafeStreets company. I am BEYOND PISSED because nowhere in the literature does it say that there will be a difference in the installation price just because I had the audacity not to want to pay double for it on the Google Store website. I swear this makes me want to return to the old-shool thermostat I had before, and after I locate a reasonable electrician I just might do that. If you are not going to install this yourself do NOT open the box and do NOT tell the company that you got it from Amazon. Go to g.co/nest/install to schedule an install and if they ask you where you got it from, tell them the Google Store and again do not open the box until the technician gets there. Otherwise they will try to charge you over $400 for the exact same install they would charge you $135 if you got it from Google.

De theemostaat was 2de hands en de wifi werkt niet. Ook is de verbinding met de heatlink niet stabiel. Een dag kwijt met zoeken en proberen. We willen hem retour sturen

Nest è sempre Nest. Il collegamento con open therm è davvero fenomenale, riesce a gestire la caldaia a condensazione senza problemi e senza particolari attivazioni (montato su Beretta). Ottimo anche per anziani, aiuta a leggere bene la temperatura e a modificarla senza troppi problemi, la possibilità di modifica manuale aiuta anche il termostato ad autoapprendere le necessità degli abitanti. Lo consiglio anche ai non "nerd".
