Great value for money
I live in a smaller space (sub 1000 square foot apartment) and most of our floors are hard wood, with a couple of rugs thrown in for good measure. Over the years we've had numerous robotic vacuum cleaners from various manufacturers. Our needs with this one were simple. We wanted a device that was controllable via app and virtual assistant (Alexa, google home, etc.). The ability for the device to map our living space and for us to name rooms and choose which rooms. to vacuum in any given session was a deal breaker. I wasn't looking for a device with a built in mop - though this turned out to be a huge boon, and self-emptying the bin was not important to me (this device does not have a docking station that allows for self-emptying; if that is important to you then look elsewhere). The device looks much like all previous robotic vacuum cleaners that we purchased. As does the dock. Setup was extremely simple - I downloaded the app, scanned the barcode sticker on the top of the device, and it walked me through the rest. Didn't take more than 2 minutes. I followed the instructions in the app to map my space and a few minutes (I live in a small space) all of our rooms were mapped, named and ready to go. This was about as seamless a process as it could have been.Adding the device to my virtual assistants (Alexa and Google Assistant, for now) was very straightforward and the app provided excellent instructions (with screenshots) for both. I exclusively use google assistant for this device as the commands are much cleaner. I simply say "Google, clean the Living room" and the living room is vacuumed. I can even chain commands "Google, clean the Living Room and the Kitchen" and it will selectively clean the mentioned rooms. Alexa's commands were a bit more arduous to use/remember (something along the lines of "Alexa, please ask Roborock to...." - I honestly can't even remember). I believe this to be a result of how Alexa's skills work, and outside of the control of Roborock. The vacuum cleaner cleans hard wood floors and rugs very well and I've yet to encounter a case where the floors were not spotless after a cleaning session. I can't speak to thicker carpet since we do not have any, but I'm really impressed by the cleaning and the bin in this device appears to be larger than previously owned devices because it lasts a few sessions before needing to be emptied.Mopping. I did not buy this device for its mopping capabilities but I'm really glad to have them. I read other reviews that suggested that the mopping was not useful, but I strongly disagree. Perhaps if you had a big mess, or sticky floors, then the (wetted) pad that drags along the ground when cleaning could not clean up sufficiently but when used more in a maintenance mode (i.e. I utilize the mop *every* time I turn on the vacuum) it keeps the floors nice and clean. Is it as powerful as higher end mopping devices? Absolutely not. Does it keep the floors nice and clean? Absolutely. What you need will largely influence your perception of the mop but to me this is a great add-on when used frequently. Finally, the ability to schedule vacuum session has been wonderful. Within the Roborock app I set up routines to clean various areas of my apartment on schedule. For instance, I schedule the vacuum to clean the Kitchen and Dining Room every morning after breakfast (8am) and every evening after dinner (7pm). The vacuum takes care of the rest and in a house with children this kind of scheduled and automatic maintenance greatly reduces crumbs and mess. This is a very cost effective device that feels like more of a luxury than I could have expected. It fits my needs perfectly and I absolutely love it.

Very smart and does a good job of vacuuming
First, I'm a VERY critical consumer. I've owned four other robotic vacuums. This is the best in almost every way. The only weakness is the mopping mode. It has a small reservoir and requires soaking the pad. If mopping is a priority to a customer, I wouldn't purchase this. But, when it comes to cleaning and not getting lost, it's the best. I can tell that it is very smart. I've closed doors so it's gotten stuck and I've put it down in a different part of the house, and after spinning around and moving a few feet here and there, it seems to figure out where it is and finds its way home. Our house is very spread out and it has no problem finding its way to the farthest room. The software is easy to use. It is very easy to select one or multiple rooms for cleaning. It is very powerful and actually went under our recliner which has about a 3/4" metal bar. It was very easy to zoom in and create no-go zones which I made where we had extension cords or USB cables under furniture. If you don't, as I hadn't to begin with, it will get caught up in them. I've had it less than a year so I can't speak of longevity. I always read negative reviews prior to making a purchase and look for consistency. I didn't find that nor did I have any issue with anything that was complained about. I like this so much, that we gifted a more expensive almost new vacuum that had some issues with noise on a hard floor and not being smart and bought a second Roborock.

Fingers crossed!!
I'm nervous about writing this review. We had another robot vacuum (starts with an sh and ends with ark) that I absolutely loved, but once it hit that year mark when the item would no longer be covered under warranty, it quit working. I tried everything. All the tips and tricks I could find. Nothing worked. It was nothing more than a large paperweight, sitting in our dining room. Side note: Companies need to give an option for turning off cliff sensors. Not everyone needs them. Anyway, I contemplated not even getting another one, but we have an Anatolian Shepherd/Hound mix and he sheds like I've never seen a dog shed. I could sweep and sweep and sweep. All he has to do is move ever so slightly and it's raining hair. Having a robot vacuum really helps keep up with it all. I started researching and this brand came out on top. I took a deep breath and ordered. It arrived quickly and packaged well. When I say well, I mean it. I think, in total, it was 3 different boxes I had to open to finally see, what I hoped to be, a long term cleaning buddy. Once I got it removed from its container, I found it a home. I downloaded the app, paired to wifi, got everything set up and connected it to our Alexa. It was simple and flawless. I then let it do its mapping. We are only using it on the main floor so it won't be used elsewhere as the only other area is a basement (underground) and it's not finished. I figured it was going to take a while so I headed downstairs to start some laundry and put some stuff away. Imagine my surprise when my Apple Watch alerted me to the fact that 15 minutes in, it was done. What?? My last one took almost 2 hours to map the 970 square feet that is our main living area. I went back upstairs and stared at it, baffled. Looking at my phone with the open app, I set up a schedule for cleaning and went about the rest of my day. That evening (I have it set up for 5:30pm) I heard a strange voice and almost jumped out of my chair. Our dog barked, the cats scattered. Feeling panicked because I am home alone at the moment, I clutched my chest and peered around the corner. It was just the vacuum telling me it was starting to clean. I let out a breath. I hadn't expected that. My last one only talked when she was telling me why she couldn't vacuum, which in the end, was every time she turned on. I watched carefully. It went around the outer edge of the entire house, hitting every room, then came back and went back and forth until it was satisfied it had covered every spot. Then it told me it was done and was going back home. Huh.After using it for a few days, I checked the bag. Wow! It definitely picked up more than our last one did. I could have made a whole new dog with what was in there. I don't love that it isn't bagless though but I can deal with that. The app is easy to use but unlike our last one, you can't name the cleaner. Gimmicky, but I kinda liked being able to do that. Not a huge deal because cleaning wise, it's amazing. I still can't get over how much hair it picked up. I showed my husband and he was impressed. Well, after first wondering why I was showing him a pile of our dogs hair. It's pretty quiet when vacuuming but when it empties, you can definitely hear it. That doesn't last long though so not something that bothers anyone. I guess it also mops but I honestly have zero intention of using that. We only have one area in our house that has waterproof flooring so I prefer to do that myself. I get why this brand is highly rated. I love it already but because my heart was broken by another, I'm still feeling nervous. I can't help it. The last one let me down and I'm really hoping for longevity this time around. My fingers are crossed.....
