Get that red crayon ready! Rock-star-turned-comics-creator Alan Robert has created a follow-up to his smash-hit, horror-themed adult coloring book! The color-crazed carnage continues! Follow everyone's favorite undead girl, Ghouliana, as she mischievously attempts to trick budding colorists into unleashing a deadly spell. Try and find the ingredients she's sprinkled throughout Robert's intricate pen and ink illustrations before it's too late! Review: Fun book to color! (And “re-work”.) - So as my title for this review states, this is one of my fave coloring books so far. I love to “re-work” my coloring books using mixed media elements by adding my own drawn little touches etc. and Ghouliana and her crew are perfect for this. Wonderfully thick paper with an ivory/off-white tone complements the psychedelic color palette I prefer with this genre (horror and sci-fi themes). The pages take wet media like water-based markers, but not the more heavy-handed alcohol-based ones, unless you’re willing to make a “sacrifice “ of the back page…see what I did there? Other mediums I used are the Molotow Chrome silver marker to color the knife, Prismacolour Premiers wax-based pencils, Starjoy oil-based pencils, various brands of gel pens(glitter and matte/neon), Faber Castell pigment pitt pens, and a few Stabilo Point 88’s. (I have also glued together other pages of this book that I knew I could “sacrifice” in order to use those well-loved alcohol based markers, one of my preferred mediums.) I put stickers, use ink stamps, distressed inks, and my own cut-out drawings that I paste into it as well. However you may use it, this book ROCKS. Great quality although I wish the publisher (IDW) would sew the binding not glue it as I have had to tape pages along the binding together already as some pages began to fall out within a few days of recieving it…before I had even colored in any. I have another book by IDW which is a Dinosaur one (Smithsonian) also great quality with the same thick creamy paper but alas, it too came apart easily. Just FYI. Otherwise it’s a great book, 5 stars!!! It’ll be even better, IF they ever fix their gluey mess binding (IDW: hint hint). I am thinking of purchasing the 4th book sometime along the way. The art is quirky and oddly beautiful for the subject at hand, but then again I am a fan of most things Horror !!! Buy this book. You’ll have a ghoulishly great time. Review: Luscious horror-packed coloring book! - 6*s+! Outstanding in every way! This is a deliciously dark serving of spooky, gory, Gothic eye candy (not for most kids, except perhaps Wednesday Addams) ~ The images are, well, scrumptious, but not for the faint of heart... They are clear, with nice dark lines, easy to see, probably a bit intimidating for a beginner colorist. The book quality is superb! About 10" by 10", 40 pages (including the amazing intro pages, like the name plate page), loads of pics. The paper is thick (like a thin cardstock) with a smooth, slightly toothy texture. So far, it's been perfect for colored pencils! & gel pens. The pages are double sided, so wet medium/alcohol pens may bleed. This book is well worth the surprisingly good price! I'm gonna give at least one as a gift, but the copy I just bought is all mine~ If you, or someone you know likes very dark humor, horror movies & is ok with gore, try this book! Again, it's really not intended for kids, at all...(it makes Edward Gorey art look tame). I'd suggest teen+. I'd have adored this book when I was a kid, but I was a weird little girl~

Love it! Beautifully creepy
I was very excited for this, and it did not disappoint! I just received my preorder in the mail today, so I have yet to color in it. Its so pretty though, I'm a little apprehensive to defile it with my scribbles! Kidding...kinda. But here's what I can tell you about it: It comes with a beautifully decorated sleeve/book cover, with red foil accents. It's the first adult coloring book I've seen come that way, so I was impressed. There is a design inside the cover to color too! But I wouldn't dare. The paper is wonderfully thick! I have no fear that my markers will bleed through. It's the thickest card stock I've seen in an adult coloring book. The art inside is amazingly beautiful/creepy. Breepy. Or creautiful. Anyway, other than that, the pages range from very detailed to casually so. So there's something to fit your coloring mood. Nothing is too simple in it, otherwise that would be boring, right? Improvements: the only extra perks that I can think of, that I would personally enjoy would be tear-out pages, and one-sided pages. But those would just be icing on the cake for me. I will update if my opinion changes as I work with it, or if the book tries to murder me at night.

beautiful!!
absolutely beautifully illustrated and wonderfully grotesque!! great quality pages! i love it!! my only complaint is the spine of the book makes it a litttle hard to lay it flat against a surface, however its not that big of a deal.

Magnificent art!!!
I really do like these detailed, beautifully drawn coloring book. I purchase I, II & III together. I keep seeing things I had not seen before. I also enjoy the high quality of the paper. I gave a 4☆ instead of a 5☆ because of one reason. The pages are double sided. I like to take out some of the pics when I am done, and these beautifully spooky pages would look great framed!! I could get past that if each pic had it's own page, but to my dismay, some designs are two pages. When you get to the middle, the art runs almost to the spine. There is no way to correct that or finish it. These books (all 3) are really great and the imagination of the artist is phenomenal. I would buy them again and I am happy with my purchase. It would be great if the author could email images that are two pages and meet close to the spine.

This Book Is Top Notch!
What a GOREgeous book! Seriously! This book is top notch! Ghouliana makes her usual appearance and takes you through the book with devilish delight! Lots of variety in the illustrations from creepy clown kids, cemeteries and mausoleums, ouija boards, apothecary jars to my personal fave the twins from the movie "The Shining!" The paper is fantastic, the best I have personally seen in any adult coloring book thus far!! I've already started coloring a page and it holds up several layers of colored pencil (I used Prismacolor) extremely well! The cover is accented with beautiful red foil and is very appealing! I was so impressed with this book that I immediately went and ordered the first one! I am a huge horror fan and I don't know what took me so long to get these books, but I am glad I did! Looking forward to the third book in the series!

Sehr ergiebig

Recomendo, pretendo adquirir o IV posteriormente.

Monster mash-up deluc
I love this artist, I discovered Alan Robert is also a great musician with several albums. i bought this book because I saw him coloring his own images on youtube. i gave this book 2 to my daughter because i decided i prefered the first one better only because it has more full double page spreads... all 4 of his books are amazing! I only regret That i did not see a promotion for “The Beauty of Horror: Ultimate Nightmare delux set” with the price i paid for both books i could of bought the set instead complete with images from all lf his books PLUS bonus drawings that are not in the others... i do know that he has a free image you can download from his website its a cool “monstermash-up” perfect for Halloween....and Christmas ; )
