With the lid closed, if you sit on the lid, will it bend/flex, or does it remain rigid?** A: I returned mine for similar reasons. After I installed it, I sat on it with the lid closed just to ensure it was sturdy & stable. The lid held my weight just fine but I felt the hinges were a bit sloppy as they allowed the seat to shift/slide from side to side as I shifted my weight left & right. So I removed it and sent it back. Mine was also missing the two white Grip-Tight bumpers on the underside of the seat (WTH?). I then bought a very sturdy wood slow-close seat with metal hinges made by Church at Lowes and I love it (ended up putting Church seats in all 3 of our bathrooms). **Q: What is the weight limit for this seat? She is 400+ lbs. We have one like this and the plastic bolt that attaches it to the toilet broke.** A: I'm not 100% positive this is the model I have, but I weigh around 185lbs., and mine cracked on the side (straight through the spot where the right rear pedestal is, so yes there is more strain on the 4 pedestals, but they are also thicker in those places than anywhere else on the seat).
