Can this latch be reversed on a swing-open door to work right to left instead of left to right?

I don’t see why you couldn’t switch it. Should be ok. The one part swings 360 degrees.

The product states “corrosion resistant” but is it recommended for outdoor use/outdoor rated? I live by salt water and need a gate lock that’ll last

It doesn’t totally feel like the quality would withstand being outdoors in my opinion. It feels more like it would be best used indoors. Like for a barn door opening inside a house. More of a decorative door latch. If that makes sense. I used it for a latch on a gate on the basement stairs and it worked in my application but I’m not sure it would be the best product for outside.
