I tried using chicken feeder ports to make feeders for my quails and they made such a mess with them and wasted so much food. There aren’t a lot of products made for quails so these looked pretty promising. They are simply made and sturdy so far. I ordered 16 and used them to make diy feeders for my breeding cages and brooders for my “teenage” quail. I think this is still too large to use for chicks, I wait until 3-4 weeks. I liked them so much that I ordered another set of 8 so I can make some larger feeders for my aviary. I also bought a 1 3/4 inch hole saw, as stated in the description, and it worked perfectly. Great product, thanks for making something quail friendly!

The media could not be loaded.  These were easy to install and drastically reduced the food my quail waste. They are a good size for quail and I’ve had no issues with quail getting stuck as I did with chicken feeders. These work well and I will buy more as needed when we add additional quail to our little homestead.

I love these ports, no more wasted feed by my quail. They are easy to install and work great. My only warning to others is to make sure your birds are full grown as the little ones can and will get stuck in the port.

Quail are by far some of natures messiest and most aggressive eaters. Despite all efforts to prevent waste, they still find a way. These ports help exponentially, but don’t expect that there will be zero waste. Your quail will still find a way to get it out and not eat it.

These are great! Bought some for a test, and already 2 more sets to expand our flock. We will keep buying these, and the seller is based in my state of TX which is even better! The quail are content, and feeding is a snap with the box we built in the hutch using these ports.

Just used a dremel to cut the openings and then pushed them through. I needed a better way to put more food out without them kicking it all around and having ants. My older more open containers made it easier for them to kick it around. This design allows some food but once the food goes down it gets harder to spread food around.

The port feeders are clearly 3D printed, which is a known unsafe material for food contact and related uses, and it is not indicated in the description. The size for the opening in incorrect as it is stated in the product description. The ports are larger than 1 3/4" and the sizing does not fit a common holes saw size. It requires the removal of more material in order to insert the port correctly. This is a problem depending on material of the container and the tools you have on hand to increase the diameter.I do not recommend this item for the listed purposes.
