The plastic 'glass' - looks just like glass as you can see in the photos, but is much lighter which is great - less weight hanging of the walls. (Please note - the frame I bought didn't come with a mount - the border you can see in my photos is a border around the photograph print itself.) The finish of all the parts of the frame that you don't see are very basic - not polished or fancy like with a really expensive frame, but all that stuff is hidden anyway. These are great frames for a great price with lots of different sizes available.
