My son-in-law is a train nut, so he absolutely loved the whistle! Works perfectly and has a true train sound and is sure to irritate my daughter, which is amusing in itself..lol Perfect size made of solid wood, so it is very durable and would be fun for kids to play with. Good price for a fun novelty gift to play with.

I bought two of these. I enjoyed the sound of the first one and thought I'd buy another to use in my classroom. The second one I purchased didn't sound nearly as good. Only two of the four holes made a tone. Must be a fault in the way the wood is cut.

Overall, this is an easy-to-use devise to imitate a train whistle. My one observation: the whistle does not quite live up to the advertised ability to achieve four different tones. Changing the tone requires one to block off the beveled exhaust holes in the mouthpiece. The problem is the beveling results in an incomplete closing off a hole. Closing one hole is no problem, but closing off two or three results in a strangled sound. I'm happy using the whistle to produce a single tone, but I wouldn't count on producing more than one additional tone
