Great stuff, but very expensive. You have to repeat at least once a year.

This stuff is a wonder product. It repels water unbelievably well. I've had such great success on my chimney that I've started applying this to the rest of my brick home as well. The best part of this is that it is breathable and allows vapor to escape from behind it while keeping new moisture from soaking in. A friend of mine recommended it (he's a chimney sweep) and he said this is the only stuff his company uses.

For many years our repetitively water stained ceiling near our center-house chimney, was assumed to be caused by chimney flashing issues. Then our expert roofing guy test water-sprayed our 60 year old brick chimney. It soaked up the water like a a sponge. It became clear that wind driven rain had been absorbed by the brick-thus the water damage inside for several years...He applied solvent based Chimney Saver, and now seven years later our repaired ceiling is still like new. I just purchased more Saver and will apply it again in the Spring to continue this great protection.

Excellent treatment, the only one that does the job properly, I think. I have an older brick chimney, and during the rainy season it was saturated with water, which was leaking into the inside of my house. Painting or sealing the brick destroys it of course, but this stuff repels water while allowing the brick to breathe. No more leaks. I apply it every fall, but five gallons is a bit much, you could treat dozens of chimneys with that. Still, there is no alternative, and it solves the problem.

We had the sealer put on the chimney just before a 5.74" downpour. We have been experiencing leaks and water all around the indoor area around the chimney. This time, not a drop came in. Our contractor had caulked, put in new flashing, but insisted that the solvent sealer had to go on and we agree. We are keeping the extra that's left over to treat other problem areas. Thanks for the product.
