So upfront I’ve yet to apply this tool to any application.Initially packaging is nice. Compact. Neatly stored and very clean. Comes with instructions (moderately basic/detailed yet not too detailed).In the box :(1) Angle Template Tool(1) wooden pencil (oval - nice touch!)(1) holding bag w/ draw string(1) Instructions(English only) (1 sided)Tool came in good condition. Tool works as described. Dimension is 12” x 6”1 small CON... upon tightening the knobs the template doesn’t lock into place very well. It WILL stay in place... it’s not to the point where it’s loosing it’s angle by merely shifting the position of the tool. However if you were to say... put it down too hard on material you’re scribing... it more than likely will move. It’s a none issue for me as I know to just be careful when transferring the tool. Yet... can be a deal breaker for some.Example :if you had to use this while on a ladder and then needed your hands to come down so as to scribe the piece.... you’d have to rig up something to possibly stop it from moving.Again it’s a non issue for me and I’m a contractor. I’ll just work around this issue.All around solid tool. Seems well built. It’s metal and it looks to me if I keep this in the bag and I’m careful to not throw heavy tools on top of it... it will last a while. It’s not the plastic cheap ones.Yes I’d recommend.On instructions ... gives a website to register for free gift. You need the Amazon Order #You get after ordering it. This angle finder ruler, or whatever they are commonly called, works as simple shown in the videos. And, best of all, it alleviates the multiple measure-cut-repeat, actions. I measure once - adjusting it to the angle or wall I'm working on - and it fits the first time. Ok, maybe the second time after a slight adjustment, if there are small bumps or imperfections in the piece being measured. But, it definitely saves time measuring corners and walls that are not quite straight.The adjustment of the ruler is easy with the thumbscrews. Also, the aluminum construction is durable to my klutzy hands.Definitely a great gift idea for any handyman.

I actually bought this tool for my dad this past father's day. He had his eye on a similar tool except it was made of plastic, I came across this tool made of far higher quality materials and knew this was exactly what he would love. I inspected the product upon delivery to make sure it was all in working order and was not damaged. I was surprised to find it came with a pencil, detailed instructions and it was wonderfully encased in a velvet satchel emblazoned with the Strongman tools emblem. It's superior quality and my dad loves it. He says it is easy to use and works well. He is very happy with it and knows he will use it for a long time due to the sturdy construction of the tool. Not only that but I was surprised by the customer service I received from this company. I received an email detailing the product and telling me an expected arrival date. Then a follow up email shortly after delivery checking in to make sure I received the product and everything was to my liking. It shipped out fast as well. Amazing would highly recommend purchasing this tool from this wonderful company.

Excellent materials. Well made. Sturdy and will probably last. However the washers that are between the movable arms are slick. Not matter how much you tighten the thumb screws, they will loosen when bumped. So if you are working on something that requires many applications of the tool to surface, it will go out of tolerance quickly. Or if you were to drop the tool - forget it. You will have lost your angles. To fix this you can add four slightly over-sized rubber washers/spacers in place of the original plastic ones. You have to do all four points. See pictures. Then once you tighten it up it will stay - very well actually. Otherwise the tool becomes useless for repetitive applications that require any expectation of exactness. Also a side note - the back side surface is grooved. If you are thinking the bars are solid from face to back you will be disappointed. The reasoning for the 'grooves' are to allow travel for the locking points. I would purchase this again. I would also prefer a larger version of it. 2x2 feet would be fantastic.

Spouse has been repairing the roofing trim and many of the boards are 20 feet long. He purchased this so he could get the exact angles he needed, remove portions of the boards, and replace them with new material. This little tool was perfect! It made a difficult and dangerous job much faster. Working high on a very sloped roof means taking accurate angle measurements sucks--every mistake means more wood wasted and another useless trip up and down the ladder. Day 1 we did not have this tool and there was a great deal of swearing, with a rain day break, Day 2 and this tool made a HUGE difference! While there are still more trim boards to be repaired, the worst has been completed and are off our worry list!I should also mention he also used this on a bizarre gutter section that is about 23" long and in the most awkward space ever to get to or work on. Lots of whistling and humming, no swears or grumbles!

Really good quality and all metal. Stays tight once you've set it in position unless your heavy handed I can't see it moving. Very versatile in the number of shapes you can measure. Only slight downside is it's not very big however it's that good I'm about to purchase a second one so I can join both together if needed to mark bigger/more complex shapes.
