Question 1

Has anyone taken these to be examined by a gemologist?  Are these glass or real gems?

I am a Gemologist (GIA). I had done sample examination of my purchases. Samples checked are Real Gems. Of course, you have to be realistic. In these price range, don't expect Diamonds, Rubies or Emeralds. Also don't expect Gems with High Clarity or Cut or Color. Most have inclusions or imperfect cuts (according to my standard). However, most are not noticeable to layman. You need a 10x loupe under examinations to show the flaws. However, they are perfect as gifts to students as introduction to Gem Stones. They are great for Rings/Pendants etc projects for relatives/friends. In my opinion, better than most Costume Jewelry which is glass/plastics.

How many types of gemstones are there?

Mostly quartz variety (clear, amethyst, smokey, citrine, peridot) also low grade garnet, and sometimes a super flawed random surprise stone will pop up in the mix. I've ordered about 5 different times because I'm studying gemology. They are fun to sort and there's always a good quality stone or two that make the lot worth it. :)

Question 3

Is this 200+ carats as it says in the title or 100+ carats as it says in the description? This is very confusing claiming its 2 very different amounts

200+, it comes in 2 100+ carat baggies inside a pink mesh pouch to hold them. They probably were just copy/pasting information from the 100+ item page.

does it come with real certification, directly from the gia? or come as my jeweler calls, with those silly laminated childrens toy cards

Neither.  Most of the stones are pretty good but, by the same token, most of the cuts are not quite right.
