Surasang Organic Gochugaru Korean Sun-Dried Red Pepper Flakes for Kimchi 3LB

Although I heard that these pepper flakes are super good to make spicy foods and that the peppers are incomparable to others. I personally didn’t find them as spicy as I assumed the way others describe but perhaps my spice level is high. I would say they are a rather gentle spice that can be built up the more you eat. I can definitely say the taste is more different than I expected as I was told it can be a little nutty? I have yet to compare them to other brands offering the same stuff. For those wondering where they are grown. My bag said china. For anyone curious, I made garlic chili oil with this batch.

I started to make my own Kimchi and couldn't find these organic flakes in my local store. This bag is a great value compared to what the stores were priced at. Kimchi is an incredible health food that is a must for your gut. Great value and arrived promptly.

Love that this is Organic. I use this to make spicy peanut noodles and am addicted. Depending on your spice tolerance, a little can go a long way. Love the complexity of the flavor.

There are no asian grocery stores near me, so I thought I would give this a try. What a pleasant surprise, it made a perfectly delicious Kimchi. Will definitely be ordering this again

I enhance the flavor of various Korean dishes such as soondubu jigae (soft tofu stew), braised tofu, tteokbokki (spicy stir-fried rice cakes) with this organic gochaguru. Its coarse texture and spicy aroma greatly improve the taste of the dishes. However, I wouldn't recommend using it for making kimchi as it can be quite expensive due to the amount of dried pepper flakes needed. For kimchi, there are more cost-effective non-organic options available in Asian supermarkets.

I used it to make kimchi. Also i like it on sceambled eggs, tuna salad sandwiches and anything you want to add a little zing too!.. it is bright red so keep that in mind when using on anything other than kimchi..
