Must have info for admin and classroom teachers!
As a former classroom teacher who currently works with educators and administrators in a professional development capacity, I strongly recommend this book. It clearly organizes and expresses research-based best practices in assessment and demonstrates how those practices are essential for responsive teaching. There are also "case in points" included with every chapter, which illustrate how these aspects of assessment would like in a real classroom (to my knowledge these are actual examples that occured and not just made up illustrations). Like most of Tomlinson's work, there is not much "make and take" in this book. This might be frustrating for educators looking for a quick and easy strategy or tool. In my opinion, that just not how good teaching works (either from pd to teachers or teachers to students). What you do get is a clear understanding of best assessment practices and how to use them effectively to better understand how to meet learners' needs.

Great Resource!
About to go into my 5th year of teaching high school English. I want to expand my abilities when it comes to differentiation and this book has already helped me with planning for the coming school year. This book holds a positive can-do tone, which I appreciate greatly.

Great Book
Hate to admit I could ever like a book on assessment and differentiation but this one is written well enough to be accessible, memorable, relatable and provides food for thought. Disagree with some aspects of their arguments for differentiation seems to be some inconsistencies and contradictions, but overall a good primer on issues facing teachers and students.

Exactly as expected!
I ordered this book a month before my class starts because I was worried about getting it on time. It arrived within a few days. The condition was very good. There is some highlighting that was done, but the product info indicated that there could be. Other than that, the book almost looks like new. Very happy.

Good book for teachers.
Good book. I had to use it for a few of my Credential classes. It had some good information it and was small enough to carry around easily.

Essential
I would recommend this book to everyone in the education industry but mostly to teachers. All the assessment questions a teacher has, it is addressed in this book. And it is a smooth read. No weird lingo. If there is new jargon, it is explained.
