I didn't die!
I bought this for a one time use. Well, it will be more than one now that I didn't die. Anyway, this worked like a charm and prevented me from getting killed. I'm glad for that. If mine ever fails I'll buy another one of the same kind. Well, if I'm able to order another one that is. With this kind of thing, there is risk.As for comfort? Top notch. I was able to climb trees all day without issue. No chafing, no rubbing. Just me and the tree. Oh, and a chainsaw. Can't forget about that part.Is this for a beginner? Well, that's what I was and it worked. I had no issues setting it up and using it. As you can see from reading this post I totally didn't die. This harness was pretty light. I mean, compared to the rest of the gear that I had to haul up? Yeah, this was nothing. I didn't even think about it.This device worked well. Buy one!

Great affordable harness, perfect choice for beginners or budget shoppers.
I would like to review the Amazon product Weanas Thicken climbing harness. I originally purchased this harness to use in North Carolina while hiking some advanced trials with my German Shepard. She has a K9 harness that I attached to my harness using climbing carabiners. The specific hike was “Paradise Falls”. While the hike itself is not particularly difficult, there are some areas where caution needs to be used, and I would still classify myself as a beginner when it comes to hiking. More importantly, when I hike with my dog Tater, I am extremely cautious, and I want myself and her to be safe as possible. The harness that I have for my dog is easily connected to the Weanas Thicken climbing harness. The reason why I chose this harness is because of the clip in the front that is easily and efficiently attach to my dog’s harness. Once Tater is safely secured to the Weanas Thicken climbing harness, I can navigate the more serious hills and inclines. The harness is sturdy and well-built enough that it is able to hold my weight as well as the weight of my dog. There is one spot in particular when hiking Paradise Falls where I was able to see the full potential of the harness. In this section of the hike, there is a cliff about 8 feet high that you have to climb down in order to get to the waterfall and appreciate the view. To navigate the cliff safely with my dog, I was able to attach her harness to mine and I began to carry her at my waist and bring her down the cliff safely. The harness is sturdy enough that I am confident that if Tater were to being to struggle or wiggle, she would not be able to slip out and that the harness would continue to support both our weights. I would definitely recommend this harness to any beginers who need a decent harness at a good price.

Great value for home needs.
After Hurricanes Laura and Delta, I needed help to repair 12 bundles (4 sq) of roofing shingles. I am not young anymore being 66 years old and had to limit my carrying of half a bundle up at a time now. The belt helped greatly and I tied long ropes off to each side of our home and repelled down each side of the roof to work removing, cleaning, patching nail holes and repairing with cheap shingles I had or purchased. A tarp is a waste of good money. Blue roofs stink. My roof pitch is 6 on 12 so not to bad, but these are great at any pitch. D ring may help more, I just half hitched half inch rope. Very light, easy to put on, easy to take off, was not in the way of the tool belt as I could adjust it up or down to allow. It stopped few slips but nothing to bad.

Yosemite's Half Dome!
Gives piece of mind on way up & down Yosemite's Half Dome! Carried this harness in a larger backpack while hiking and upon reaching Half Dome, got into harness which I had previously fitted with 2 lanyards & carabiners and was able to easily connect on/off to the cables both up & down this iconic granite beast! The day before I did Half Dome, I put on what I planned to wear for the hike & then fitted the harness to my body that way. So if you buy this, become comfortable first with how it's going to feel on your waist & how you'll need to adjust it ahead of the day you'll be using it . That preparation helped me once at the cables. My BF has this same harness which he used for successfully climbing Half Dome 2 yrs ago! 🦾⭐

Greater comfort but not sure about safety
This is much more comfortable than the full harness and although I question whether it will hold in a fall, I am going to wear it rather than the full harness when I go on the roof. But that is only because the roof is a 4/12 pitch and I don't expect to do more than maybe roll out of control a few feet if I lose my footing. I am actually using it more to help me keep my balance. The reason I question the safety is the way the belt that goes around the waist is fastened by a metal "buckle" that is basically what you find on adjustable straps - that is, it threads over then under a metal bar and then turns back and threads the other way. The end is kept against the belt by a metal band and to get the belt on you loosen it as much as you need to in order to step into it, and then tighten it up again. This end will not pull past the metal band because it has a hem on it which makes it too thick to slide through the metal band How much it would hold in a quick snap of pressure which would happen in a vertical fall is what I question. I wonder if the strap would just pull out of the buckle. Also I am 150 lbs...if someone much heavier is going to depend on this I am not sure it is a good choice. The full harness like those from Guardian or Werner have metal buckles that insert past each other and then come to rest against each other. You can tell that these are not going to separate/come apart in a fall. I have to say I probably don't know as much about these safety items as many others here, but that is what I think. Good luck and stay safe.
