If you own the Makita tire inflator this is designed for, you’re probably annoyed that it’s slow and you have to manually hold the trigger the whole time it inflates, which can be tedious, especially while crouching down low to the ground. This trigger easily attaches to the inflator (with Velcro), is unobtrusive, remains permanently attached, and converts the manual trigger to a push button that engages (or disengages) the trigger, depending which position it’s in. And of course, you don’t need to manually hold it, and the inflator’s automatic off function will turn it off when the desired pressure is reached anyway. Great inexpensive work-around for an annoying design flaw that Makita’s safety engineers/lawyers probably insisted on. Only negative is that mine did not come with instructions, though it was fairly intuitive to figure out installation and use.

Excellent value for the money. This device makes the makita tire inflator the easy to use tool it should have always been. Set the inflator to your desired pressure, engage this trigger lock, and set the inflator down. Walk away even. It will stop once the target pressure has been set. It is simple to use, unobtrusive, and reliable.

This is a must have, especially for the price. Does exactly what it says. no issues.

Why in the WORLD is this not included (or built into) the Makita 18V LXT compressor? Kneeling down holding the trigger to inflate a tire would be brutal on my back. The compressor has a built in setting for stopping when the correct pressure is met as it is, so why not have a setting that lets you pull the trigger and it locks and then stops when it's done like a gas pump? I installed this little handy mod the day I got my compressor. No more hassle!

This is a great idea, as it would save from holding the button for a long time, e.g. when inflating a car wheel. However, the execution is poor. The item doesn't fit well, and it is too flimsy. We spent 15 min trying to adjust it, so that it triggered the button correctly, but it was not reproducible. And then it broke when trying to tighten the Velcro strap, as the plastic part is just too thin.

The Makita pump has an automatic shutoff when the tire reaches the preset pressure. This holder keeps the trigger pressed until the automatic shutoff happens. If you’re inflating something that has a lower pressure demand, you’ll need to shut it off manually. This is a tremendous addition to the makita pump and is highly recommended.

Easy to install, no mods needed. Worked as advertised right out of the box. Highly recommend. Really makes the makita inflator function correctly. Makes it so you can just set it and walk away. Perfect! Used it a bunch of times when my truck tire started losing air. .....one thing bad... the silver metal button end piece vibrated off one day during use...didn't notice...found it in the driveway the next day Little bit of super glue, screwed it back on...done. Overall great, should be included with the compressor.

Great concept and worked awesome while it worked. I've broken three of these now. The little plastic loops that the velcro goes through are garbage.

Product description has this designed for 18v Makita LXT cordless tyre inflator BUT it also also fits Makita 40v XGT MP001G tyre inflator. Fantastic addition to tool. I can get rid of cable tie now. Update May 2025 Trigger pin now falls out. Will go back to cable ties now.

I love my makita tire inflator but was a pain to have to hold trigger, now this gadget makes it a fitting tool
