Didn't see that ending coming ...
This was an over the top, suspension of belief type of book. The characters were seriously flawed and sometimes annoying. The situation they found themselves in was crazy and mind-blowing. The atmosphere was claustrophobic and I couldn't breathe. I was stuck right there on the RV with them. I guess if you really wanted to, you could have figured out the villain. I didn't and when it was revealed, it had me racing to finish and find out how it would end. The story lagged some in the middle and there were a couple of chapters that could have been deleted. But when the story picked up doing the last third of the book? It was rip roaring and a fast pace finish. I did both audio and ebook. The audio helped the story be more real during the important moments. Now I'm normally not a fan of YA books, but I do enjoy books written by the author.

holy moly..
** no spoiler, just my honest review! This book left me speechless, sobbing rn bc of the ending. The plot twist shocked me and what’s even worse the ending wasn’t how I expected it to play out. This book made me turn every page just like “A Good Girls Guide To Murder” did, but this one definitely played with my emotions and stringed them perfectly. Was so so invested. Amazing writing and storyline. One of the few books I’d read over and over again and never get tired of it. So so glad I found this book and bought it, definitely do not regret it one bit.I know some people may think the characters are unrealistic and annoying but I thought they added to the story. At least for me it did, I probably wouldn’t have been as interested if the characters didn’t have something to them. Oliver is for sure not my favorite but he was one of the character’s that made me go on the edge of my seat.I do feel like there are a lot of unsaid things that needed to be said for the ending and a scene that should’ve been revealed but then again, I also liked how the author just left it unsaid and tied the ending turning it way back to the beginning with a minor detail that was said from the way beginning, I thought that was ingenious. My tip for reading this book is, if you’ve ever read “A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder,” to not have so much expectations for this book to be similar. Yes, it was created by the same author, but this book is completely different from the series of “AGGGTM.” Even so, it was an amazing read and was so incredibly enjoyable.

Fast-paced YA thriller
Me: Okay, I have zero tears left after TFTDATE. Let's try a thriller! No tears there.HOJAY: 🤣🤣🤣Me: 🤧😭I mean, what the frick? I was not expecting that. The entire book takes place over 8 hours. It was super fast-paced, and I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough. I was biting my nails and sitting on the edge of my seat.I ABSOLUTELY HATED Oliver. F*** Oliver. Every time he spoke, I rolled my eyes and hoped it would end. He was arrogant, overbearing, and toxic. I would start an "I hate Oliver Lavoy club" and be its president - that's how annoying he is. I understand the need for the character, but I'm still pissed and knocking the rating. 🤣The ending, the letter, the check boxes? 🥹 I need to know which she chose

The intensity builds to the extreme!
Red is traveling in an RV to Florida with her friends to spend a week celebrating spring break together. They lose cell service and GPS capabilities then end up down a dead end road getting a flat tire. After replacing the flat tire with the spare, Red sees a red dot hovering around the RV and yells at the others to notice. They ignore her until they hear the gunshots that take out all four tires. The group runs into the RV for protection. The shooter leaves a walkie talkie for communication and tells them that one of them has a secret they need to share. The secret is going to be revealed, one way or another!Likes/dislikes:Oliver is annoying because he’s a know-it-all with a superiority complex. The mystery is interesting to try to unravel when a few characters allude to having secrets. The suspense builds intensely, which makes a riveting read.Mature Content:PG-13 for drinkingLanguage:R for 20 swears and 105 f-bombs.Violence:PG-13 for Someone shoots at the RV and holds the travelers hostage inside. The sniper fatally shoots an elderly couple that stop to help. Bloody shootings. Attack with a knife.Ethnicity:Mixed, Korean, Mexican, white, African American

Non stop suspenseful thriller
I love Holly Jackson's trilogy, The Good Girls Guide to Murder. Five Survive is just as good. I had a hard time putting this book down. I like to read at night before I go to sleep and Five Survive kept me up late! Lots of secrets and twists and turns with an unpredictable conclusion make Five Survive highly recommended.

This book needs to be a movie!
I loved this book! At first I liked it for the quirky main character and relatable storyline, but then I really got into the story line. This would make a great movie too. It would only need less then ten cast members and one main scene lol. Highly recommend this book. Keeps you turning the pages and wondering what will happen next!
