Dr. Ninth (Doctor Who / Roger Hargreaves) Paperback – Picture Book, August 29, 2017

Of the fun little stories that Mr. Hargreaves has created for his Doctor Who series, this one seems a bit odd. Though the characters come across well enough with the Doctor’s “fantastic” and sonic screwdriver, tt retells the story of the ninth Doctor meeting Rose in a way that doesn’t really correspond to what we already know. And, Captain Jack shows up but doesn’t do much. It’s still a great little book but doesn’t seem to work as well as the others in the series.

I personally liked the slight tweaks to the first story when we see Nine, it's quirky and silly and everything a Mr Men and Little Miss book should be! c:

As a Doctor Who fan looking for unique baby books for both my little one and myself I was excited to find these series. While the Doctor and Rose appear in this edition, their relationship and how they meet doesn't follow the original series. That's fine, I can appreciate this as it's own entity.

It's the Doctor and my childhood. Enough said.

My Doctor

Somewhat clever but does not fully live out its potential. From my perspective.

First off, this TOTALLY ruins how the doctor first meets Rose. Totally. It still has the same concept, gotta find the autons, etc, BUT, it ruins it so so much because it rehashes out the first episode. Could they not come up with something different for 9? Why does he always get the short end of the stick!?!?

This crossover series of little books that should have an amusing appeal for Doctor Who fans of all ages continues with the Ninth Doctor receiving the Mr. Men treatment as he goes shopping for a hat.The story seems to be less imaginative and original than those of the other DR. Men books, being merely a bit of a retelling of the televised episode ‘Rose’, albeit with a Mr. Men take on it, involving the importance of cabbages.It features both Captain Jack and Rose alongside the Dr. Ninth. Oddly it seems to have reworked things so that Jack has already been travelling with the Doctor for some undisclosed time before they both meet Rose during the course of this story.Still a bit of enjoyable fun but the weakest of the series so far.
